HI,
I'm running Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r50176 std (09/15/22 on R7800 (the forum suggest it some years ago as a good compromise...)
The uptime of the router with this fw can reach months...

Considering it's been two years, I would like to have an update for new features (any?) and bug fixes, compared to r50176

But it seems to me that last ones (eg 56941) are showing some reboot problems, or some other performance&functionality issues.

WHICH version (newer then r50716) is a "good compromise", i.e. showing no reset or new bugs compared to R50176 ?

BR

r53562 was a pretty solid version, and the last to use the v4.9 kernel. Everything above this version uses the 6.1 kernel. My R7800 is presently on r56820 and is solid, but it is only being used as a WAP/VAP.

If this router is your internet gateway, try first turning off SFE. If that makes things better, then try NSS-SFE.

Just my experience.

I have tried a few of the more recent builds (over last 6 months) but all of them have given me issues (reboots) with SFE (even NSS-SFE on the later builds) enabled, so I have reverted back to the last build I am happy with: r53445. This build works fine with SFE enabled.

53445 is almost 1 year old, so it has unfixed stuff like dnsmasq, openssl and other binaries that may be in your use ...

NSS-SFE is WIP.. but, there are users whit positive feedback so, far im stacked on the last build 56941 and was 12 days until today's power down (reboot) Razz new build is coming soon ... Cool

NSS-SFE and NSS-ECM-SFE have been pretty solid on my R7800 running the latest few releases (currently on r56941). The only issue is that top/htop/ui all show an idle load of 1.00 (50%) when NSS is enabled. I haven't seen it reflected on the temperatures or anything, so I'm quite confident it's merely a cosmetic issue. Using just SFE usually results in a spontaneous reboot within a few days.

SFE by itself is definitely still problematic but NSS-SFE works fine. I agree the 50% CPU usage is incorrect as I witness the same. No heat increases and nothing is actually using this much CPU. I believe this may be a bug that is showing the NSS cores usage and not the actual CPUs, but this is simply a guess. Either way it does not appear to be a problem.

Looking thru SVN seems these are likely candidates for having fixed my problem with "SFE Only" reboots.
