Hi guys,

Just saw on latest beta relaese r56820 dated 06/12/2024 two AX devices finally supported by DD-WRT.

Linksys MR7350
https://www.linksys.com/mr7350---dual-band-ax1800-mesh-wifi-6-router/MR7350.html

Dynalink WRX36
https://dynalink.life/products/wifi-router

Should I consider one of them or go with Asus TUF-AX4200 supported by OpenWRT ?

Thanks Cool

The DL-WRX36 is the more powerful device and very well supported by OpenWRT.

I have one and am very happy with it:

Are you going to try DD-WRT on your WRX36 device?

I will update Announcement: 802.11 AX Supported routers - W.I.P. when we get a public release, it's already listed as a WIP. Will need info for device wiki, as usual.

How does one get access to the "testserver"? I have been an active member here since 2006. Seems like I should be able to have it.

The GL.iNet GL-MT6000 (Flint 2) would be a good DD-WRT candidate, too.
It is supported by Openwrt and has gained some popularity this year.

The GL.iNet GL-MT6000 (Flint 2) is (yet another) currently unsupported MediaTek SoC that will probably not see support if nobody donates the hardware.

Mediatek socs are not the hardware of choice due to very bad wifi firmware , the wifi part tend to crash after several background scans for no reason and doesnt come back up.

this is possible to reproduce with ac and ax mediatek devices

since the firmware is a binary blob from mediatek there is no fix in sight ...

that why keep on looking for qualcomm SOC devices , there are plenty

DD-WRT uses MT76, not OEM driver source code. Only binary blobs are the firmware binaries. Unless there is something hidden from view:

We are at 57200 as minimum usable build for currently supported AX routers until determined otherwise due to the wifi tab issue that is now fixed. Next up should be Asus RT-AX89X, and this thread doesn't need to focus on that or anything else for that matter. Thanks for the noise.

EDIT: MR7350 has been rolled back to 06-19-2024-r56941 for minimum usable build in the Supported Devices Wiki.
