I currently have the wrt3200acm, but I would like to buy something more superior, the ones you mentioned I think are the same as the one I already have... anyway I'm finding out

so, far x86/64 platforms only...otherwise as a power, for 1Gbit speed, R9000 (XR700) is fine.. than again VPN/WG will take a toll..and consider it has a crappy overheat issues, its not the best..(mine is still fine)...
may be once BS adds support of some AX router with 2.5gibt wan, than will be a new suggestion _________________ Atheros

in fact I'm opting for the R9000...But do you think it's worth buying or should I wait for a more current router?
