Is it more secured to remove telnetd from Busybox? Dropbear basically can do the job of telnetd. There is no reason to make it available at all.
Also, with telnetd bundled/coupled with Busybox, users canNOT isolate it.
Note: I believe telnetd is the telnet server, not the telnet client.
Code: | # which telnet
/usr/bin/telnet
#
# which telnetd
/usr/sbin/telnetd
#
# ls -l /usr/sbin/telnetd
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Jan 2 06:23 /usr/sbin/telnetd -> ../../bin/busybox
#
# ls -l /usr/bin/telnet
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Jan 2 06:23 /usr/bin/telnet -> ../../bin/busybox
#
# nvram show | grep telnet
telnet_wanport=23
telnetd_enable=0
remote_mgt_telnet=0
mactelnetd_enable=0
limit_telnet=0
