Hi there
I have tried to read the wiki of the archer c9. But it's a mess in my head. Cant figure out what option I need to do to get my router back to stock firmware TP-Link.
Here is my concern
I downloaded the newest flash availble (now I know I took the wrong file after read the wiki). and
I flashed thru my gui interface in tp-link web gui.
I flashed it and after the flash the router keeps reboting all the time. I have tried to ping it using the ip 192.168.1.66 but response I get is request time out or destination host unavailble.
I have read that I can somehow tftp to it to then flash another image file on the bricked router.
Tried to 30/30/30 hard reset but same error I get. I don't have the knowledge to serial into to router Only have the option using the lan cable to work with it.
Can someone please explain it in easy terms if I can recover from this somehow and how to do it.
What option do I have to get this router back up, or is totally broken? as I said I don't know how serial into it.
I read that it specific installtion steps for the tp-link but saw it after the flash.
The fact that it accepted the firmware confirms that it should be an EU version (there is a US version that is more identical to the R7000 than the EU version). You should still be able to TFTP the 33772 factory-to-ddwrt.bin file then upgrade from there. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

After setting the 192.168.0.66 static IP
Open TFTP and browse to the folder that have ArcherC9v1_tp_recovery.bin file
Turn off router
Press and hold RESET button
Power on the router and keep RESET button press until you see that the file is transfered from TFTP.
Wait for router to reboot and you should now install the other bin file from release folder.

Yes I succeeded the router is back up now with dd-wrt running good. Super thanks mate for helping me out you are a god saver:). I changed the file to v3 that file that was requested in the log.
I managed to update my C9v1 to latest DD-WRT release.
All this managed by some trick:
- I renamed archer-c9v1-webflash.bin to the latest TP-Link OEM firmware c9v1_un-up-ver4-1-0-P31[20160517-rel35411].bin
- uploaded and flashed from DD-WRT web interface
- magic happened
Was the only thing that solved bootloop after updating with same file without changing the filename.
I am very happy for this discovery, so I shared in all the places that are relevant for this router model, so no one in future to experience same issue like I did.
