HW: HP ProDesk 600 G2 Mini
FW: 53045-X64 build (can't use newest build as USB3-NIC not working in newer builds)

I don't have minidlna activated in the GUI, I start it by minidlna -f <minidlna.conf>.

1: MiniDLNA is not indexing files with many Streams. I have a few filed with 20+ Subtitles.

The developer of MiniDLNA, Justin Maggard, wrote in this post in 2012, it's a problem with libavformat, but at the end of the posting it was solved.
https://sourceforge.net/p/minidlna/bugs/67/

The Synology-MiniDLNA-Implementation can handle these files.

2: I specified a Log-Directory in the conf (log_dir=), but there are no logs, also there should be at least the warnings from 1:.
It's not a permission problem, the Database ist created without problem.

EDIT: I made a ffmpeg oneliner (ffmpeg -i c:\Temp\Video.mkv -map 0 -c:v copy -c:a copy -sn VideoWithoutSUB.mkv) to get rid of the Subtitles, this new file is indexed. So it's the problem from 2012.

Any solution with priority to 1: ?

Seems to already be a known issue:

minidlna does not index all files / where is the config?

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6164

minidlna used in DD-WRT is current (4 months since 1.3.3 was released):

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/browser/src/router/minidlna/minidlna/NEWS

https://ffmpeg.org/doxygen/trunk/group__libavf.html

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/browser/src/router/minidlna

All of the bits in the repo seem current enough.... so the issue should be resolved in upstream development (or not?)...

I sent an email up the chain to BrainSlayer.

@kernel-panic69: Thx for the links

about 4 hours ago (05:30 in the morning for me) I remembered Changeset 53146 (I'm at 53045) and so I decided to do again a quick upgrade to FW 53755 to test the new minidlna.
But I forgot my own yesterday posting with broken USB3 in FW 53755 (05:30.....), what causes me a portion of extra work.

TL;DR
1. MiniDLNA in 53755 also can't handle Files with many streams
2. In 53755 Samba works great, no high CPU and RAM consumption any more
3. WTH moment with up- and downgrading: my new sda4 Partition on buildin HDD got deleted
4. 1st time that I used the OpenVPN Client-Config-Export button, made by @egc. NICE!!!

I wanted to test the new miniDLNA by Changeset 53146 and did again an upgrade to 53755.
The 1st WTH moment was the deleted sda4 partition I made for miniDLNA Database, config-file and log-file (if only a log would be made).
Obviously partitions on the HDD not belonging to DD-WRT get deleted with up- and downgrading.
2nd WTH moment was that I forgot about my own yesterday posting and had to handle the missing USB3-NIC.

For testing DLNA in need to access to my OpenVPN-Subnet (where all Multimedia-Devices and TVs are in), and so I had to make my Notebook an openVPN Client.
I used the export button egc implemented, that saved me some time. Big THX to egc. Only the <ca> section is missing, but that was no work to add by myself.

OK, with FW 53755 I made new sda4, bring miniDLNA up to work and prepaired the Notebook as DLNA-Client.
Then I copied my two Testfiles (2x same .mkv, but one without the 25 subtitels) to media_dir. At this point I realized that there was at least no consumption of CPU (1%) and RAM (Free RAM at 85%).
With FW 53045 I have CPU at 45% and Free RAM down to 5% while copying Files to WRT-Share.
Same effect was while indexing the files (my DB is about 24 MB after indexing), FW 53045 high CPU/RAM load, FW 53755 al least no CPU/RAM load.

DLNA-Client test now shows that new miniDLNA in FW 54755 also is not indexing files with many streams.
Doing a find / -iname 'libav*' I only find libavformat unter plexmediaserver, maybe that's the point.

Back to 53045, new sda4 again (have to take an USB-Stick to get rid of this upgrade-delete-partition-thing), miniDLNA back to working.
If only USB-NIC would work with new FW, but there is an open Ticket for that and maybe Sebastian can fix it.

Thanks for reporting there was a false dependency, ca was only exported if there was a tls-auth key.

I already made the patch will be fixed soon.

Ah Ok. As a feature request: "logging to an additional mounted partition".

Thx for DD-WRT
