Where exactly is DHCP configured at inside DDWRT? Is it under Services > Services tab? I see a list that I can manually input for "Static Leases" but otherwise I didn't see anywhere that I could easily manage active connections and lock IP to a MAC, or otherwise take a list of connected devices and give them a host name if they don't have one, and lock in their IPs. This manual entry under "Static Leases" seems very cumbersome.
Probably AI Generated Crap. Time for a Forum Rule that forbid it.

checking to see if @wiredcharlie got this working.
I just came across this post though a little late today is March 5th, 2024 and thought i can help as I am currently doing a very similar setup to what you are trying to do and running dhcp on a linksys router (dd-wrt installed) with dhcp and wireless turned off on the internet modem. If you are still trying to make this work let us know or if you got a solution working..
