Flashed this onto my Asus RT-AC3100, and after 20min of uptime, the web interface no longer works.
I assume the httpd process died, but I can't get into ssh either to check. I'll report back.

Total uptime is about 35 min.

**EDIT
So far I'm not able to get the web interface back using the below command from SSH
service httpd restart

any ideas other than rebooting? If not, I'll have to do it later.

Code:
httpd -n -p 80

"-p 80" is probably for port 80, and not sure what "-n" is for, but this worked for me when httpd died and didn't restart automatically. I got it from inspecting a properly running dd-wrt with "ps aux | grep httpd"

So far I'm not able to get the web interface back using the below command from SSH
service httpd restart

any ideas other than rebooting?

Code:
httpd -n -p 80

"-p 80" is probably for port 80, and not sure what "-n" is for, but this worked for me when httpd died and didn't restart automatically. I got it from inspecting a properly running dd-wrt with "ps aux | grep httpd"

Try the command "startservice httpd" This has always worked for me.

well I tried to access it again, and it came up. It must have restarted on it's own... anyhow, back to testing...

Router/Version: ASUS RT-AC3100
File: asus_rt-ac3100-firmware.trx
Kernel: Linux 4.4.302-st40 #9436 SMP Fri May 26 15:54:42 +06 2023
Previous/Reset: AsusWRT Merlin 386.10 / Yes
Method of Flash: CFE Web Flash, then reboot
Mode/Status: WAP up 5 hours.
Temps: CPU 79.1 °C / WL0 52.3 °C / WL1 55.7 °C
Issues/Errors: Working as configured.

Thank you BS and all of the other devs who help out to make this firmware great.

**Question though, how long does it take the watchdog to detect and restart the httpd service?

Well, if you search for "RT-N12B" in source codes, line 2734 of libutils/libutils/detect.c:

dd-wrt/detect.c at 952177c8af0919fe9e19a8c3fba633353665e52d · mirror/dd-wrt · GitHub
https://github.com/mirror/dd-wrt/blob/952177c8af0919fe9e19a8c3fba633353665e52d/src/router/libutils/libutils/detect.c#L2734
Code:
unsigned long boardnum = strtoul(nvram_safe_get("boardnum"), NULL, 0);

.... more ...

   if (boardnum == 45 && nvram_match("boardtype", "0x04CD")
       && nvram_match("boardrev", "0x1201")) {
      setRouter("Asus RT-N12");
      return ROUTER_ASUS_RTN12;
   }

   if (boardnum == 45 && nvram_match("boardtype", "0x054D")
       && nvram_match("boardrev", "0x1101")) {
      char *hwrev = nvram_safe_get("hardware_version");
      if (!strncmp(hwrev, "RTN12C1", 7))
         setRouter("Asus RT-N12C1");
      else
         setRouter("Asus RT-N12B");
      return ROUTER_ASUS_RTN12B;
   }

I dunno whether the detection could be improved and what information you could provide to help... Smile

Can you post the result of running the following commands:
Code:
nvram show | grep -i -E 'board|hardware'

Hello Guys!

I am kinda behind on this, using quite old build (DD-WRT v3.0-r39960M kongac (06/08/19)) on my Netgear R6400 v2 and was thinking about upgrading it.

Of course I know you guys cannot guarantee or anything but are there any precautions around flashing this update that I specifically should do?

I am also quite aware about routers wiki page as well as installation specifically upgrade section, but beside that are there some known risks? Of course I mean to reset it to factory, upgrade, reset to factory again.

Thanks in advance!

Start your own thread to ask this question.

This is the build thread, for users who actually flashed this build. Smile

You might first do a search for "Netgear R6400 v2" and maybe "Netgear R6400v2":

BTW, is Netgear R6400v2 using Atheros or Broadcom chip?

Your tone is all wrong. We know what the OP of the build thread says. But build threads diverge into crap all the time. And, you could've answered your own question by searching "Netgear R6400 v2 wikidevi":

https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Netgear_R6400_v2

@ GoMati: You might as well update to today's release (52720); keep in mind, a reset and reconfigure from scratch may be required.

Cheers

That's extremely welcome and kind of you, thank you, good sir!

And to give something back to the forum and all its users (especially those looking for answers on this router) here's my report:

Router/Version: R6400v2 (U12H332T30_NETGEAR)
File/Kernel: netgear-r6400v2otp-webflash.bin
Previous/Reset: Reset before and after flashing (coming from DD-WRT v3.0-r52459 (05/08/23))
Mode/Status: just standard lan + wifi 2/5, WOL on single host, ARP startup command + DMZ on one host
Issues/Errors: none!

Some additional info: I took semi-leap of faith and started upgrading my old kong's build with r52459 thanks to some kind's soul post telling me that works nicely. I've factory reset before and after flash.

Then same procedure to install current (r52703) firmware using web GUI, also ofc file for my board (netgear-r6400v2otp-webflash.bin). The only thing is that I defenitely do recommend some patience as router restarted a couple of times. As for now every feature that I usually use is working fine, so good work on this one to @blkt!
