I've installed the stock firmware, downloaded a 2023 build for DD-WRT, flashed successfully, named the wifi SSIDs. All is fine until I apply wireless securuty (WPA3 personal, AES), after which I cannot connect to the wifi.
I'm a newbie.
Thanks

Since no one has responded I will suggest you use WPA2 personal with AES as the only settings. It's the recommended setting.

Also check wireless/basic settings/advanced settings . . . Antenna Chains settings for both radios

setting should be . .
TX Antenna Chains 1+2+3+4
RX Antenna Chains 1+2+3+4

Thanks very much Monza. That worked perfectly.
I am now connected to the wifi.
Next step is to get internet. I am connected to a Plusnet modem/router.

For other to help with no internet connection problems you will need to post your settings.

Without them I can only suggest you re-boot your modem. Some modems are very sensitive to changes made to connected devices and need to re-negotiate the connection. My old Zoom modem was like that . . . my Moto modem is not.

Try re-booting modem and router and if no joy you will need to post setting to attract more help. =)

I tried that but have the same problem.
I'm connecting to my Private Internet Access acount.

Your time is not set.
So there is a setup problem.

Ah yes, just noticed the 1970 date! But I set the time in the Basic Setup menu.

"greenwich" is certainly the wrong time zone, because it has no summer/winter time.
The correct time zone would probably be "Europe/London".

And your gateway and DNS settings tell us nothing, those are some private IP addresses.

You'd have to explain that a bit...
And also what kind of WAN connection type is used.

Also . .

As I am unfamiliar with the Plusnet modem/router I will ask if this is two separate devices or one combo modem/router device?

If a combo device is the router on the Plusnet modem/router disabled or . . are you connecting your 1900 router directly to the active Plusnet router?

I also assume you are NOT trying to connect wireless to wireless but are connecting the devices via wire.

If connecting via wire to your Plusnet router it may be the operating mode you selected on your DD-WRT Setup/Advanced Routing/Operating Mode setting.

I don't use "Router" mode but other users can advise you on the proper setup depending on the above info. Post more info about your current setup (router to router? or router to modem?) and I feel sure others here can advise you on the proper settings you need. =)

Thanks for the help.

I've attached the WAN pane.

The Static DNS addresses are the servers of Private Internet Access.

The Gateway is the IP address of the modem/router.

Plusnet is a modem/router. I am connecting to it via wireless.

That is all wrong Sad

Gateway is the next hop.

But just leave gateway and Local DNS at their default 0.0.0.0

The DNS servers of PIA are only available if there is a VPN connection.
But without DNS you will no be able to get time or resolve an url so you will not get an vpn/internet connection.

Please have a look at the DDWRT OpenVPN Client setup guide to properly setup a OpenVPN Client:
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=327398

Oh and just leave the Time Server IP / Name field empty that works best

Thanks for the link.
This is rather complicated.

I firstly applied the settings in the pdf file. Same problem.
Also, the time is still 1970.

Then I went to the Private Internet Access website and followed their instructions for DD-WRT v44715 (here is the link: https://helpdesk.privateinternetaccess.com/guides/routers/dd-wrt-v44715-openvpn-setup).
Still no luck.

I am attaching the entire setup and log.

UPDATE:
Manually set time and disabled OpenVPN. Time was then correct.
Reinstated OpenVPN and the time was correct, as the log shows, but no internet.

UPDATE: On other advice, I changed the ethernet cable from Internet to an ethernet port and now have internet with the Linksys router but failing to tunnel through Private Internet Access. Here is the latest log. Seems like progress. I might start again, using the pdf suggested above.
