Hello,

I have the M2M H721 5G modem/router. The unit is stellar and does generally everything I want, until now. The unit also goes by UniElec U7621-06 or MediaTek MT7621.

The unit has a built in Quectel 5G modem as a primary connection. The unit also has a WAN port that I would like to use for Starlink through the Starlink Ethernet Adapter. I thought this would be an easy fix, but I am running into the issue that Starlink doesn't want to connect to the unit unless the DHCP on Starlink is turned off, and that causes a management nightmare when the unit loses connection to the satellites. Essentially I am running into Double WAN issue with Starlink, even though the subnets are completely different (192.168.1.1 for Starlink and 192.168.2.1 for my 5G router)

The goal would be to figure out how to utilize both the 5G and Starlink connections in a load balance or failover configuration. I assume that there is ability to do this fairly easily but I am not familiar with this enough to know how to do it.

How do I get the unit to deal with the Double WAN through the primary WAN port and then load balance between the built in modem in the /dev/cdc-wdm0 device slot

Please note that while I am tech savvy, I am very new to the DDWRT world, so a little bit of patience on your end would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Perhaps you're thinking OpenWRT. This device is not supported by DD-WRT.

Should have figured this out two months ago when nobody answered your post on reddit:

OpenWRT-based:

In other words, you're barking up the wrong tree. Please inquire at your firmware's own support channel(s). We do not support your firmware here.
