Picked up a spotless used Linksys WRT3200ACM in box.
Already had a mid 2020 build of DD-WRT installed.
I reset it and installed latest r52081 build.
Set up as per my usual wired AP mods.
No internet.
Tried other builds r51787, changed channel to 100 - eventually got internet, but extremely slow even though signal very strong...and nothing on Samsung Mobile.
Reset, very basic setup, tried again - same...
Faulty or am I missing something with this model? _________________ ------------------------------------

I reset and loaded up r51937.
Followed a couple of the tips mentioned ie disable wlan2, disable WMM etc.
Set up a very basic config to test wifi.
Got a connection to laptop on some chanels in 5MHz, but poor data transfer rate.
My Samsung mobile connected without internet access..
Will be returning it tommorrow for refund. _________________ ------------------------------------

Be sure regulatory domain matches hardware region of the router, also WPA2 Personal only, CCMP-128 (AES) only.
Stock firmware behavior will determine whether it is a hardware issue or just some Marvell configuration limitation.
2.4 GHz AP Mixed HT40 MHz Channel 1 Upper or 11 Lower
-- 5 GHz AP Mixed VHT80 MHz Channel 36 UU or 149 UU
I returned the WRT3200ACM for a refund today.
It's owner said that she was going to put it in the rubbish as it had no AC adaptor and didn't work for me!
I gave her $A20 for it back - something for me to tinker with in future, with hopes of getting it to work.
I had another go today - and again a frustrating time.
I could get a strong wifi signal, but no client will connect to it no matter what combo of build/channel/security I tried.
I took it down the other end of the house, disconnected my EA8500 and hooked it up directly to my internet and set it up as a Gateway.
Wired internet worked!
But still, no wifi client will connect to it....
I might flash it with Linksys firmware - just to test wifi and confirm it works:
flashed with latest Linksys FW_WRT3200ACM_1.0.8.199531_prod.img
I put it into Bridge Mode as a wired AP.
Everything works!
Wifi is good!
It's a pity the Linksys firmware is just so featureless, but as a Wired AP in Bridge Mode it will suffice for now. _________________ ------------------------------------

This boggles my mind. We have yet *another* 3200ACM in inventory currently on 52095 and it is working as it should. "I tried all the things, but I am not going to show you what exactly I did, it's just plain broken!"... _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Oh, yes you are!
So r52095 - ok
What channels? - I've tried 36 and 149 on 5MHz - got a connection but NO Internet...
Only WPA2/AES or WPA2/WPA3/AES? - (WPA3 works on my WRT1900ACv1)
Are you running it as a Gateway or just an AP?
Spill it, Gribble!
NOTE: One thing I just noticed: doing the 3 on/off thing doesn't bring up the other partition! I end up back at the Linksys firmware. Have tried several times - at different paces - no good. _________________ ------------------------------------

I would leave channel on auto, but fiddle with extension channel itself until devices start connecting. Thats what I did and all the 5ghz supported devices in my house were connecting to the router. I can tell you that when me and my sister ran a speed test on our computers, we were speeds of up to around 600+mbps. It would go higher, but my internet plan is 600mbps download and 40mbps upload. _________________ For people who are new to the dd-wrt forums >> http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#rtfm

When running stock Linksys firmware see http://192.168.1.1/sysinfo.cgi save a copy also Ctrl+F search for region.
To switch partitions from Linksys GUI locate Troubleshooting, Diagnostics tab then click Restore previous firmware.
Both WRT 1200 and 1900 series (88W8864) use different wireless chip from WRT3200ACM or WRT32X (88W8964).
Select regulatory domain to match hardware region. WPA2 Personal and CCMP-128 (AES) only two boxes checked.
leave channel on auto, but fiddle with extension channel itself until devices start connecting:
I got my laptop and mobile to connect, but at the max speed of 54M.
Only the Mixed worked, others like AC/N Mixed would not connect.
click Restore previous firmware:
This ended up loading the previous version of the Linksys firmware, rather than bringing up DD-WRT. _________________ ------------------------------------

Bad settings, RTS, Disassoc, U-APSD etc. Analysis should begin basic settings & keep advanced checkbox defaults.

Sorry no, this is not true. There are only two firmware partitions so the situation you are describing is not possible.
If Restore loads a different Linksys firmware version then you flashed Linksys firmware twice, overwriting DD-WRT.
If Restore loads same Linksys firmware version either DD-WRT overwritten or bootfailed 3x and switched boot part.
Select regulatory domain to match hardware region. WPA2 Personal and CCMP-128 (AES) only two boxes checked.
So, which hardware region is your WRT3200ACM? Which regulatory domain is selected? Wireless security settings?
Region & Domain are vital to have correct before properly configuring channels, also Save and Reboot. WPA2 only.
Yes, looks like r51937 is the way to go.
I now have 3 sets of setups from people with working WRT3200ACM's.
I've tried all 3 setups today - as a wired AP.
Two setups allowed devices to connect, but no internet on connection.
The third setup would not even get a connection to devices.
I'm thinking its almost random as to dd-wrt wifi working or not on this unit.
The 3 "working" setups are all quite different.
My older WRT1900ACv1 works great on r52095 - even WPA3 works.
I've put it back on Linksys firmware for now and will continue to tinker another day. _________________ ------------------------------------

I can't get dd-wrt wifi working reliably on router, so yesterday I tried the latest OpenWRT firmware.
It also failed to connect wifi clients...
Tried wifi mod as recommended there, still no good.
I read all this page https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt3200acm until I came to the bottom - at General:
Tested OpenWrt 19.07, no issues found, very stable
Now, 19.07.10 is an older version, dates to April 2022.
Nothing to lose, so tried this version.
It works.
Wifi works.
At least it's a lot better than stock firmware. _________________ ------------------------------------

Hello all,
@nickant And I'm currently running OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r22497 on the wrt1900acs v2 and the wifi part is impeccably stable and fast, the only inconvenience on the wire is not more than 899Mps download!
I really tested the whole week, I didn't have any disconnection, I stayed on netflix all day and I sent 4k movies via SmartShare to the TV without problems, everything on the wifi side.. _________________ Internet provider https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCS_%26_RDS 1Gbps
