Router/Version: T-Mobile 1900AC (Asus 68U)
File/Kernel: asus_rt-ac68u-firmware/Linux 4.4.302-st38 #9161 SMP Thu Apr 20 01:31:46 +06 2023 armv7l
Previous/Reset: One in Jan 2023 worked, March 21 didnt
Mode/Status: Gateway
Issues/Errors: Had this issue after changing from Kong, but the FW in Jan 2023 fixed it, The one in March 21st I tried has the same issue as Apr 20th (This one) If I put the router under load, Say continuious downloading of games (Say multiple Nintendo Switch Games) the router will soon disconnect out and drop the wired and wireless connections. Takes few mins for everything to come back up.
Wow i was wondering why my internet suddendly went off Thanks.

Is this issue only with the Asus RT-AC68U or other devices as well?

Can't say I've had that issue specifically with my Asus RT-AC68U, but after nearly 10 years using DD-WRT, I've had to switch to Merlin (not sure if I could switch back now even if I wanted to), and I'll explain.
I now have gigabit internet, and I noticed a couple of hours after a router reboot, the download speeds would slow to around 600-900Mbit, and would only return to normal (for another couple of hours) after a reboot. At first I thought it was congestion, but it was the firmware. I switched to Merlin and everything has been solid, with even faster WiFi speeds.
DD-WRT has served me well for years with <100Mbit, but was too unreliable for me with gigabit internet.

Ive had DD-Wrt on this one for awhile too. Issue is the AC1900 from Tmobile, while it works as a 68U, it was slightly weaker then the actual 68U. Still works fine and all, but we are not in an age where routers need 4 cores because of all the misc wifi devices that a house has.

Id love to upgrade to a TP-Link AX6000, since it has 8 ethernet ports built in, plus is a solid router. Only issue is. Seems DD-WRT doesnt go on that router. Or many other high end ones.

So using what I have.

I also know awhile back on a firmware update. The router/build did NOT like it at all, if I was on the work PC and was on a MSN site. Something about the MSN ad network they spam all over their website would crash the router. (Which was fixed in a later firmware)

Right now my switch is done downloading and no issues with the router. So something about continuious download tho.
My wife Smart iptv is what seems to be causing my issue but i hope everything works out for you.

Is it a Samsung Smart TV?
Cause that one I KNOW causes issues. Too many of the samsung ones that have [TV] hard embeded into its name causes some conflict, but not only that, the TV tries to act like "localhost" if you dont have your router manually assign it an IP. But that issue doesnt cause the router to crash, just causes things not to connect correctly sometimes. Annoying for sure tho.

Kinda wondering if anyone else has thoughts on what causes the router to basically crash out if something is downloading under load like that for extended period of time.

You should setup remote logging then you might see what happens.

Could be you are running out of memory

Thanks for reporting, however you should report in the Ralink/Mediatek forum as the R6800 is Mediatek based.
See the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what firmware to download, where and how to post and many other helpful tips:

LG tv.

At Offsite #1 they have a Renter that also has a TV with the name "localhost" and fixed it with a static ip address (not in the DHPC Range) and a new host name.

That's why I am NOT using Tranmission!

Did learn during my IP connection scans that GoG Galaxy Client has basically a torrent system running in the background too.

However even after I turned that off. The issue looked resolved.. Until yesterday when yep you guessed it. I started downloading with the Nintendo Switch again couple games and WHAM. Crashed the router out after a time. So much so I even had to reboot the fios modem. Not sure why.. but oddly enough nothing would connect to wifi till after I did that. Going to try to upgrade to the latest version of the build now that I have a chance to.

Too much BT upload and some ISPs might throttle your download. Limit the upload rate of your torrent system, say to less than 50 KB/s! Wink

You are not paying for a business line, so there are always limits.
