As I said I have tested this several times with the regulatory domain US and the channel 161+LL with both radio firmware versions and also with a router restart.

With me the problem does not occur, it always shows me all channels up to 161.

Have you cleared the browser cache? (CTRL+F5)
and tested another browser without plugins ?

Thank You for checking this out for me. I just cleared cache on browser(FF) and disable all plugins. no change. I also checked on Edge and Safari. No change. Weird!

With Spanning Tree Protocol deactivated in the gui, why does mstpd continue running no matter what?

yes indeed i can see it as an output of netstat -npla
but this doesn't mean its running..or doing something..
There is only nvram value for lan_stp=0 as STP should be only running inside the local network...

i do have those few in my boot syslog in relation with mstpd
Jan 1 02:00:10 daemon.info mstpd[739]: error, CTL_set_cist_bridge_config: Couldn't find bridge with index 12
Jan 1 02:00:10 daemon.info mstpd[739]: error, CTL_set_msti_bridge_config: Couldn't find bridge with index 12

you can always probe your router wan or lan side with wireshark and find if there are any STP messages running...

There's four problems as I see it; 1) STP is deactivated 2) mstpd is still running anyway 3) it's a server 4) There is no mention of it in the standard services anywhere. Therefore my approach to this is to kill it on startup.

I still would like to know why it is running.

it went too off topic..but...

Jan 1 02:00:10 daemon.info mstpd[739]: error, CTL_set_msti_bridge_config: Couldn't find bridge with index 12

you get this error because the bridge you have made will come a bit later..in the boot...but on this check its not there yet...
i can only guess mstpd its been used for managing br configs/communication...or you can ask BS.. Rolling Eyes

Maybe he will chime in on this. You might be interested to know that with mstpd killed on startup commands, it has no discernible effect on the router. I am not surprised at this because with builds last year, it was not there. It's only recently that I have seen it reported by netstat. (this year)
