@baboeska is your USB interface visible/selectable, at basic set up page or at the network set up page, where you can adjust WAN interfaces...
The thing that it is created, but not used points me to, you either have to selected it via GUI..or
use start up commands to set it as a WAN...(you may even need to do some other bits, like give it a DHCPd)
Im not really into this type of a WAN use via USB at all, there are other forum members that could help you, much better than me, i've sent you a PM that you never opened...but here is what i pointed you...
(see above mac913's updated post with R7000 5 GHz speedtest)
03-23-2023-r52095 works great and 04-08-2023-r52242 works fine as well but has a long startup time and issues with being able to capture the boot log unless I have a serial cable attached.
Some builds work awesome with my config, some do not. I primarily use Dnsmasq with caching and static leases for my config. DHCP is turned off except for on the WAN. I also use Dnscrypt. Other than that It's pretty vanilla, all other services are turned off in the GUI.
Other R7000 users show no issues, speeds are fine, so backup old config, save copy of nvram show and start over.
r52095 this is before Broadcom Switch Config received upgrades also since then wireless channel changes or fixes.
So maybe you can make enough changes to fix your existing config, but I would start over fresh this is guaranteed.
I don't recommend reusing a backup config from an older build. I would save the all the GUI configuration pages by printing to PDF; Load build 52330, then nvram erase && reboot. Now manually config the router from the PDF backup. Don't be lazy, well that is what I tell myself when I have problems with a new build. _________________ Home Network on Telus 1Gb PureFibre - 10GbE Copper Backbone
