NEEDS DD-WRT SUPPORT FOR TP-LINK TL-MR3620 (EU) V1.0
(AC1350 3G/4G WIRELESS DUAL BAND ROUTER)

JUST DISASSEMBLED THE DEVICE, REMOVED RF SHIELD.

SOC IS QUALCOM ATHEROS QCA9561
16MB FLASH (DIFFICULT TO APPROACH WITH A SOP8/SOIC8 TEST CLIP & PROGRAMMER)
128 MB RAM (SPECS SEAMS SIMILAR TO ARCHER C59)
1X USB 2.0

2ND RADIO CHIP WAS COVERED WITH STICK-ON HEATSINK, SO I DIDN'T REMOVED THAT.

UNFORTUNATELY, TX & RX ARE NOT CONNECTED TO THE UART TERMINALS,

TP4 WILL BE TX (CONFIRMED WITH MULTIMETER 2.5V-2.9V VARYING)
TP5 WILL BE RX (0V)
(X VALUE RESISTORS ARE MISSING - CAN BE CONNECTED WITH A SOLDER BLOB OR 0-OHM)

& WILL NEED THIN JUMPER WIRE TO THE UART TERMINAL WHICH ARE NOT CONNECTED (NC).

THERE IS AN IC 74HC595 WHICH I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH. (ANYONE CAN COMMENT ON ITS FUNCTION PLEASE).

I HAVE SAVED THE BOOT-LOG AS BELOW. FROM TP4 (TX)

U-BOOT IS ON WEIRD BAUD RATE 120000 (SIMILAR TO TL-WR941N (CN) V6) (OTHERWISE SHOWS GARBLED CHARACTERS)
KERNAL IS ON 115200
REST OF THE SETTING ARE SAME AS OTHER TP-LINK DEVICES. USING PUTTY (LATEST)

PLEASE GUIDE ME, CAN I DUMP/COPY ITS FULL FLASH DUMP FILE WHILE ON STOCK FIRMAWRE USING SSC/SSH??? (FOR BACKUP REASON TOO, MOST IMPORTANTLY. BEFORE TRYING TESTFILE) SO I CAN SHARE IT HERE TOO.

REQUEST TO BRAINSLAYER, FOR DEVICE SUPPORT.

No response from anyone. Should I assume that the device is not compatible. ( Although it is, according to my view, as it is a 16/128 atheros device)

If I had to choose I would rather see support for high end devices e.g.:
https://www.amazon.com/Dynalink-DL-WRX36-8-Stream-Wireless-3-6Gbps/dp/B096K9SVCT

I have one which is now running OpenWRT but I prefer DDWRT Smile

No, what it is was your lack of urgency and failure to continue reporting on the last device that needed DD-WRT: Now you wish to be impatient? If someone chooses to contact the lead developer, that is their choice in the matter.

Got TL-WR941N v6 (Chinese market). Needs dd-wrt.

It was a great learning experience (for me as a newbie). With the help of BS & DD-WRT, I was able to make my previous device fully functional. I was as responsive as possible, Updated about WR941Nv6 that it is up & running seamlessly. & I think I tried to make that post as informative as possible for others too.

Maybe try another USB to TTL serial adapter with a different chip such as FTDI FT232RL, FT232RQ, SiLabs CP2102.

Garbled characters are not an issue for me. I simply change my baud rate accordingly while working on u-boot or kernal.
I am just waiting for the test image for this device, so i can update about the progress in the forum. Thanks.

In his reply to my email, BrainSlayer did say this hardware was supportable. I have not seen any development commits or test images for it yet.

Wondering if this and the other device actually need 57600, or something else between 9600 and 230400. Issuing a printenv from u-boot command prompt will give exact baud rate, which is what I presume the OP did? Wink

Anyway, wanted to bump this thread to say that I have seen no development progress in SVN, no fullflash dump posted, and to encourage that the OP exercise some patience. I will try to get some feedback from the developer, but keep in mind that focus is elsewhere.
