It's been a few years since I've had a DD-WRT running and I'm having a bit of trouble.

I've just bought a Netgear Nighthawk R6700 v3. I downloaded and installed Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r52095 (03/23/23) on it.

It's sitting on default settings right now, only thing I have changed is the username and pass. My son tried to connect to a minecraft server I was hosting on my pc and couldn't connect. So I started pinging from my PC (plugged in to the router on port 1) and couldn't see his pc (he's on the wifi) Same when I try to ping from his laptop to my pc.

We both have internet access so I'm not sure why this is happening. Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

Regards,
Mike

To be sure there are no gremlins on the router do, from the Command line interface (telnet/Putty):
Quote:
nvram erase && reboot

This will do a thorough reset.

After setting up username and password configure the wifi:

Or, just try un-checking "Block Anonymous WAN requests (PING)" on the firewall tab, save, reboot. The rule doesn't specify interfaces, if memory serves.
