These last few versions brick my RT-AC68U unless I do a factory reset. But then when I setup QoS again, it's bricked again. At one stage it bricked before I even got to the QoS settings page. So I'm forced to use r51679, it's the only recent version I'm aware of that is stable with this router. r51787 and newer I know for sure are broken.

So the router was bricked only after you altered and applied settings in the NAT/QoS->QoS page?
Did you wait long enough for things to settle? Sometimes the router needed to boot 2 times in order to use certain functions. _________________ Router: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)

That's correct, QoS page, although it did once actually brick while I was setting up WiFi, which I do in the early steps (QoS is done last). Only way to recover was recovery mode 192.168.1.10/192.168.1.1 recovery page.
