pppoe tmobile fibre PADO packet lost on vlan 35
I have been struggling a bit getting the fibre connection on an own router. With a packet sniffer I was able to get the mac, host-uniq, user and password.
However I was unable to get a connection. I have noticed that PADO packets of pppoe-server are not being received when on the vlan2.35. Currently I have a test setup, on the vlan2 everything is going fine. But when I start putting the pppoe-server on the vlan35 these packets are lost.
Changes to the default in regards this pppoe.
- added a tag 35 to vlan2 (setup → networking → Tagging)
- changed in the file /tmp/ppp/options.pppoe
nic-vlan2 to nic-vlan2.35
when I then run from the console
pppd nodetach debug kdebug 3 file /tmp/ppp/options.pppoe
I can see that PADI packets are send on the vlan 35, I can also see the PADI return is send on the server, but on the client/router/ddwrt it is not there.
I assume that somehow the packet is dropped somewhere? What would be the quickest fix for this? (without having to update)
Depends on which build you are using.
If you are using a reasonably recent build (> 49872) then the interface entry in /tmp/ppp/options.pppoe will be set automatically based on the "WAN port assignment" setting in the networking tab.
So nothing at all has to be changed manually in the file.
and that is the task of the questioner to provide such important information and not our task to ask for the dd-wrt version and the used router
