Before USBs are mounted:
Code:
efsck -p /dev/sda1
nope this is incorrect he is asking for checking the bad blocks of the router ram i believe...well he didn't mentioned neither...
more over efsck -p /dev/sda1 is for fixing USB drives bad blocks (ext fs based) please ignore MesMurized comment from above.. even command has a typo (e2fsck) ...
more on USB drives e2fsck here in this thread:

Why the hate? Because I misspelled e2fsck? Sorry, I'll try to do better.
Even your link recommends what I posted. Geeze _________________ Current: Netgear R9000 DD-WRT v3.0-r55363 std (03/13/24)

There is no hate at all m8, dont take it in that way and play im a victim card..
If you carefully read the first post, the OP is asking about checking for bad sectors on his routers...R7000 / R7800
as those could prevent form uploading firmware images..
and your answers is:
-wrong, with misspelled command that actually is meant to fix bad sectors, not to check for router bad sectors..
-you are also hijacking the thread and changing the subject...forum rules !!!
....case closed, thread will be locked if the hijack continues .......lets keep it clean

The command "e2fsck" is used to check and fix EXT file system errors.
So for external disks that are formatted with an EXT* file system.
On the one hand the internal flash memory does not use an EXT file system but squashfs and on the other hand BAD blocks can not be fixed.
Bad blocks are physically defective cells in the flash memory.
And since the cells can not be repaired, they can only be recorded in a table (bad block table) which marks the memory areas as defective so that these cells are no longer used.
