Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
• Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• Detail issues & relevant configs, logs: syslog klog 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages' nvram set console_debug=1, serial.
• Firewall NAT: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' & 'cat /tmp/.ipt'. Misc: stracetcpdumpwireshark.
• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, SB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.
Router/Version: TP-Link TL-WR841ND v11
File/Kernel: tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin / Linux 3.18.140-d6 #160566 Fri Jan 6 06:14:39 +06 2023 mips
Previous/Reset: r51184 / no
Mode/Status: AP wired and wireless / Up and running for 3.6 hours
Issues/Errors: Nothing significant
The fact is that the router connected to the Internet (to the Internet provider). And it reports an error, the orange WAN indicator flashes (the icon in the form of a planet). Internet is working, I just think it's a glitch

Note: I did try clearing the static IPv4 DNS entries and rebooted. DNSMasq and SmartDNS did not honor the settings for IPv4 servers. I added the servers back to the Setup tab and rebooted. All normal now. Not sure if this is a bug or just how DDWRT operates. _________________ Netgear R9000

Linux 4.9.337 #722 SMP Wed Apr 17 04:16:49 +07 2024 armv7l
Gateway, AP, DNSMasq, Clock 2000MHz
VAP on wlan1 for internet devices
IPv4 & IPv6 (Prefix Delegation)
Static Leases & DHCP
CloudFlare, no SFE, SmartDNS, no QoS
2.4GHz: Vanilla, Airtime Fairness, NG-Mixed, ACK Timing 3150, WPA2 w/AES & WPA3
5GHz: Vanilla, Airtime Fairness, AC/N Mixed, ACK Timing 3150, WPA2 w/AES & WPA3
2 Netgear AX1800 WiFi Mesh Extenders
Xfinity 1.2Gbps/35Mbps
If you have Use Additional Servers Only" Enabled, then SmartDNs will only use the servers you have entered in the SmartDNS additional Options.
This does not seem to be the case with DDWRT and my R9000. I have Use Additional Servers Only enabled and 4 servers lists, 2 IPv4 and 2 IPv6. Without the IPv4 servers specified on the Setup tab, DNSMasq does not use them. _________________ Netgear R9000

The only thing DNSMasq should be using is SmartDNS.
If you enabled SmartDNS then this will be in dnsmasq.conf:
Quote:
server=127.0.0.1#6053
no-resolv
no-resolv meaning DNSMasq is not using any specified DNS server.
server=127.0.0.1#6053 is SmartDNS, so that will function as the (only) upstream server for DNSMasq.
I placed "only" between brackets as you can specify more upstream servers manually but that of course defies the use of SmartDNS.
From the SmartDNS guide:
Quote:
Use Additional Servers only:
When Enabled SmartDNS will only use the DNS servers you have entered in the SmartDNS additional Options.
When Disabled SmartDNS will also use the existing DNS servers from /tmp/resolv.dnsmasq (which are usually the DNS servers you specified in Static DNS 1,2 and 3 etc, unless you are using VPN's which can alter DNS servers)
If you enabled SmartDNS then this will be in dnsmasq.conf:
Quote:
server=127.0.0.1#6053
no-resolv
no-resolv meaning DNSMasq is not using any specified DNS server.
server=127.0.0.1#6053 is SmartDNS, so that will function as the (only) upstream server for DNSMasq.

Are you saying I should remove the "server" entries in my DNSMasq Additional Options? I do have
My wndr3700v4 is a 5ghz WDS Station with a VAP to repeat the same SSID. If the Dir-862L WDS AP is set to channel 161 L or LL, the wndr3700v4 VAP on the Wireless Status page shows Channel: Unknown for wlan1.1 and it no longer broadcasts as verified by inSSIDer, even though the WDS wlan1 connection is made and shows appropriate 161 + 157 Wireless Status. Ironically, the VAP works fine with the reverse of 157 U (+ 161) on the WDS AP. When I have more time, I will try to locate the regression version.

The only thing I have in my DNSMasq additional options is (and which is recommended when using SmartDNS with DoT/DoH as actual time is necessary to function):
Quote:
server=/pool.ntp.org/time.google.com/9.9.9.9
That is for resolving my NTP time servers otherwise you will be in a catch 22 situation.
Note:
In your /tmp/dnsmasq.conf, you will find these entries (amongst other things):
Quote:
server=127.0.0.1#6053
no-resolv
which are placed there automatically when you enable SmartDNS.

I did some experimenting. Removing the server=1.1.1.1 and server=1.0.0.1 lines from my DBSMasq Additional Options and clearing the Static DNS entries but having this as my SmartDNS optins:
