I have been searching and reading on these forums and I see posts mentioning that they have the ath10k driver. So, I set off to figure out what driver my Archer C7 v 5 is using.
Here are some specs I was able to find online for my router:
WI1 chip1: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9563
WI2 chip1: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9880
Supports 802.11ac
3x3:3
I am running (Linux 3.18.140-d6) build 154321 (Oct-01-2022).

I ran lsmod but I didn’t have wireless turned on at the time of running it. Should I have that on when I run the command?

Code:

ath10k                444448  0
hwmon                   1632  1 ath10k
thermal_sys            15792  1 ath10k
ath9k                 503696  0
ath                    15312  2 ath10k,ath9k
mac80211              674996  3 ath10k,ath9k,ath
compat                 23744  3 ath10k,ath9k,mac80211
ag71xx                 20976  0
sch_sfq                 8396  2

ath9k for 2.4ghz (802.11n)
ath10k for 5ghz (802.11ac)

(this is chipset dependent, ath9k for N and ath10k for AC chipsets, but there are also AC chipsets that can be used for 2.4Ghz)

and what do you gain from the information?

Thanks. When I am reading other posts, I will know when the information might not be relevant. But, you are right that there might not be a huge upside because sometimes "it's all Greek to me."
