I may be over complicating things so I wanted to ask. I have been running dd-wrt on a netgear for several years now and I think it's time to upgrade the hw. I'm looking at the db here vs new gear on amazon. of course I don't expect to find something for ever router found but I am looking for something newer than 10 year old hw I'm using now. I'd like to upgrade to wpa3 and I do see it on the online demo. my question is once I find some hw to run dd-wrt, are there any hw that is better/worst to use? if this runs the same across the board, that's fine.

Well of course you have read the forum guidelines by now and now know that 44715 is an old and outdated build and that you should not use the router database Smile

P.S. also note the disclaimer on the router database:

This database may not have up-to-date information and may even recommend a build which might cause issues. As such, you should check the device specific forum (Broadcom, Atheros, MediaTek, etc.) first before flashing any build recommended in this database. There you will find build specific topics that discuss any issues with a particular build/release. For more up-to-date firmware files, please visit the firmware faq.

YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN FRIENDLY AND FAIR NOTICE 🙂

Current build is 50963
