Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums.

For some reason I'm struggling to flash firmware to my r6700v3. Crying or Very sad

I went in the administration page to flash factory-to-dd-wrt.chk.

After clicking yes the page times out and losses connection.

Also what is the latest stable release for this router? I see it's not even listed in the database for supported routers.

I heard something about KONG firmware but from what I see he's no longer developing so I think his firmware is out of the question.

Thanks in advance.

what is the current state of your router after the flash...usually it takes up to 3-5 min to be sure..
than restart and wait than you can reach your router at 192.168.1.1

also Kong left the building time ago, same as Elvis did...too Laughing

please ignore the data base as its old and not updated, last firmware for it..

Yep. Tried that firmware. I must have reset this router 5 times to try and get the firmware to flash over. the connection resets and it doesn't flash. Pics included.

Try NMRPFLASH for Netgear routers.

In my previous post I linked to the Setup guide.

I quote from that guide:
Quote:
Although you should be able to start with the latest build, builds are increasing in size because more is added and recent builds might become too big to be used as first flash.
Buildnumber 47479 is reported to work for first flash so consider starting with this build

Quote:
Users of an XR300 or other routers with recent stock firmware, who cannot flash via the GUI (it is reported that newer Stock firmware does not allow flashing third party firmware) can use NMRPFlash:

Well, I switched to my laptop and was able to flash the chk file over. Now it's doing the same thing with the update.bin. I swear I'm at the pint of pulling my hair out. At least I'm getting closer.

Make sure you are using a browser without extensions and in incognito mode.

If you still have Internet explorer you can try that

the other thing that comes to my mind is if you have any firewall/antivirus software that may play funny..but as egc said, use non chrome based browsers or use incognito mode with no addons..
last resort netgear tftp flash...ggl it Razz
