Affected which way? Exception to force blank hardcoded NTP servers was DNSCrypt only, but this is now resolved.
Dnsmasq DNSSEC, SmartDNS, Unbound need IP priority before 2.pool.ntp.org? Yes, unless startup delay or check.
This is why egc's Additional DNSMasq Options solution is effective should guarantee NTP pool returns IP addresses.

is unbound affected as well?
I punched IP address of NTP server (HK Observatory) into that field, and Unbound is working fine so far. And my Unbound loads a huge host blacklist.

I have noticed an unbound did not exit gracefully warning that pops up every other boot or so
You might wanna post relevant entries from /var/log/messages (for example, "grep -i 'bound' /var/log/messages"). It's true that Unbound would abort if the clock was not set correctly during init.
You can reproduce the error by disabling all DNS servers & services in DD-WRT, then punched in a domain name into the Setup->Basic Setup->NTP Client Setting->Server IP/Name field. The related command is "ntpclient".
That's why it's better to leave that field blank, or input an IP address if you insist to use your own NTP server.

Issues/Errors: The first issue occurs while performing large tranfers over Wifi with the second being random reboots.
Testing shows file transfers of 1Gb+ over wifi causes the router to reboot. This did not occur during the previous 50814 build. I have a syslog server running but nothing is logged when it suddenly reboots. Logs prior to reboot are normal. I can force a reboot by transfering these large files. During normal use no issues. The other issue I found is when using DDNS service set to Cloudflare cause reboots about once every approximately 5 hours +/- 10-15 min. Temp of the CPU is also in expected range so no overheating issues that I can see. I'll comb through the logs on the router to see if there are anything that jumps out or if they look normal like what is on my syslog server.

This goes hand-in-hand with the debugging in the recent Asus RT-AC5300 thread. The OP posted a screenshot of their status page and cache memory is locked at 128MB (512 on the device) and runs down to zero and the system reboots plus malloc errors as the memory is exhausted. This is a kernel bug, I’m 99% sure or a hard limit in how DD is setting cache size, which should be dynamic under Linux.

mips cpu have a memory barrier. on the brcm cpu it means. everything higher than 128 mb is high memory and cannot be used for all applications _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? On 32-bit Linux Low Memory is addressable up to 2GB of a maximum of 4GB without PAE. I don’t know Broadcom’s own module limitations, but in theory all of the memory for Northstar devices with 512MB should be mappable completely to the Low Memory region. But, maybe that’s not cogent in their implementation.

Kernel 4.4-302 is END OF LIFE as of 2/22.
Thank you and all others responding to the issues, Brainslayer thank you for the memory barrier info as well, very much appreciated. I'll go find the AC5300 bug tread and take a look and see. _________________ Asus RT-N66R 50841 big

domain-needed and bogus-priv seemed to be now required.
ISP auto-upgraded from 80 Mbps to 800 Mbps line speed due to infrastructure upgrades so forced me to do a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem upgrade. Hi, since previuos update I have a issue, The router does not restart correctly, it cannot be reached at its IP address and the WiFi networks remain down (LEDs off).
I did several tests: if I reset everything works until I reset the WiFi networks, if I restore a configuration file from some previous version it causes the same problem.
After countless attempts, it suddenly restarted but if I try to make a new update the problem returns.
