I'm trying to find out what is available via IPKG but can't get started.
Running ipkg list tells me I need to run ipkg update. Running ipkg update fails with errors, possibly related to my directory structure being incomplete becuase of missing subdirectories such as 'whiterussian' or 'backports'
I only want to get a basic idea about how DD-WRT works and was looking to try and install a file manager like midnight commander to find my way around the system.
For wrt160nl, the linksys-to-ddwrt-firmware.bin is to install from factory stock linksys to dd-wrt just like name says.
wrt160nl-firmware.bin to upgrade from DD-WRT web interface, command-line flash or TFTP recovery, thanks mrjcd.

The ipkg binary dates back to pre-musl DD-WRT and OpenWRT and does not seem to work when you try to manually load OpenWRT .ipk files. I don't know why it is even still included in firmware images and taking up space in official builds. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
