I want to setup my DD-WRT router basically to add additional ethernet ports to my existing LAN which has an Internet gateway running pfSense at 192.168.1.1. This runs DHCP which provides an IP address to the router via static mapping. In the basic setup I have set WAN connection type as automatic configuration and that works as I would expect.
Should I set DHCP Type as DHCP referer with DHCP server as 192.168.1.1?
For local IP address I wanted to use 192.168.2.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 with Gateway and Local DNS of 192.168.1.1.
If I set things up like this, I need to set a static IP address for an attached laptop - using DHCP does not assign any address.
Can someone explain what I need to do?
What options do I need to set in the Networking and Advanced Routing sections?
I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to DD-WRT, so apologies for all these questions.
