The above software when installed on the router, it only works on DHCP connections but not on PPPoe. When select PPPoe it disable the wan port and the router unable to connect with ISP. The SSh is also disabled by default, no way to revert this firmware or to install the stock firmware. Adds appearing on router page, Anyone have clue, how to enable PPPoe or revert to stock firmware. please update.

Welcome to the forum.

For the EA8500 you have to reset to defaults and put settings in manually due to an upgrade of the switch configuration.
Does your ISP require a specific vlan ID to connect via PPPoE? Screenshots and logs help us help you. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

And how exactly are you tagging the WAN with this VID/VLAN? _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

I tag eth0 to 24 in webgui and Vlan 1 in switch config. I think these setting are not very simple to me, as am newbie on this forum and also on such routers.
The switch config tab no longer works on the router since the switch configuration was changed to 2 CPU ports.
After you have changed and applied something, you can only reset the router to factory settings.
And in the switch config tab you don't have to change or tag anything if you need a PPPoE VLAN tag.
After you have assigned the VLAN tag number 24 to eth0 in the "networking Tab" you have to assign the WAN port "WAN Port Assignment".
There you have to select eth0.24.
Thankyou very much for guidance, finally it worked up. Router connected to ISP, however there is a bug in it. It turn the wan assignment to disable as soon as I select the PPPoe connection type, but somehow it has started working with wan assignment to eth0.24 now. However, as soon as I make any changes to router, it again get stuck and take to much time to reconnect. Infact it miss the eht0.24 and then the option of selection of eth.24 also vanished. I strongly believe that this software need update.
I had done quite some work on it and found so many bugs in this software, even when try to sysupgrade through telnet and tftp, it says not such commands exist. Please let me know how can I get my router back to Linksys stock firmware. Secondly the DHCP of this software is not issuing IP addresses rather giving ip address of internal system, not as defined in ip pool. port forwarding and ddns also not working as soon you put any thing dhcp get confused and no surfing to internet remain available. dns is also not resolving all the addresses. So problematic this software is and also very slow. Please kindly give me the tip to revert to stock firmware.

You are confusing it with OpenWRT there is no sysupgrade on DDWRT
I am running this software on my EA8500 build 50551 and I know several others also and I do not have any of the problems you describe.
So it looks like it is something in your setup or the way you are setting up
DHCP and DNS are done with standard DNSMasq implementation if it is not working chances are you have not setup correctly (note that the Maximum DHCP Users is now 190 so if start address is above 64 you are in trouble).
I use port forwarding and DDNS to noip.com also without any problem, but it is possible that some DDNS providers do not work correctly (I know dynu.com is working, afraid.org and noip.com) _________________ Routers:Netgear R7000, R6400v1, R6400v2, EA6900 (XvortexCFE), E2000, E1200v1, WRT54GS v1.

I bet the bug is between the monitor and the chair.
Funny that all the other users' routers work.
@egc you can configure in principle every DDNS provider manually (specific)
I use a DDNS provider that is not listed at all and that works wonderfully via the manual configuration
