Hi all,
my Linksys WRT 1200 AC v1 running firmware DD-WRT v3.0-r50500 (10/13/22) does make a lot of problems.
Problems began beginning this year, so I started to update the firmware. I am now running on the latest dd-wrt firmware I found here: https://dd-wrt.com/support/other-downloads/?path=betas%2F
My configuration crashes. The router does reboot and resets automaticall to factory defaults.
All I'm doing is:
- set user & password
- enter my ISP data (Germany, Telekom VLAN7)
- change Router IP to 192.168.101.100/24
- DHCP Start IP address to 192.168.101.101
- set Static DNS
That's it. Takes 15-30 minutes, router crashes and restarts again with default settings.
CPU is about 75C°
What can I do? Shit, it always was stable but now I have that much problems.
Can I see anything in the logs regarding power supply problems?
Just for my understanding: You mean It tries to reboot 5 times with my configuration because of power supply problems and the factory defaults are working then? Do they need less power?
The way the LAN IP and DHCP pool is handled has changed. How many DHCP clients did you allow for with a start IP of x.x.x.101? I believe the new default is 190, and that will crash it. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Autochannel on wifi and a single static DNS server? Maybe we should take a look at all of your configurations. While 75°C is within specs, I would consider a fan on top of the router case pulling air through it. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

so it did not work. I woke up and again, router is on default settings.
So can the power supply be a problem? I do not have another one fitting to test. Is it worth trying?
The Wifi Auto Channel is just because I set up the config complete new (not restoring settings from my previous configurations on older builds). Wifi I haven't set up yet completely.
Perhaps it's the only solution left to have a look on complete config. How can I show you the config best way? I have screenhosts of almost all pages. Because I made a "visual" backup
Or is there any way to check the logs? Not possible if always resetting to defaults, right?

And the obvious clearing browser cache? ctrl + f5 would help somewhat some gremlins but not the reset itself to defaults.
A serial connection left open during a longer period would probably shed some light, perhaps also setting console_debug=1 and setting up a syslog server to receive the logs elsewhere and then would show any points that it starts to fail (obviously otherwise logs are lost) the server would need to be on a external connected machine.
