and everything else related (many other files peppered around source code) that relies exclusively on default vendor wlX Broadcom side including the driver itself, since driver is closed source I suggest you complain to Broadcom.
...
There are actual real issues that should be fixed Broadcom side, none of them are this.
I agree it's too late to change. It should have done earlier, and for ALL routers.

Earlier, as in over 20 years ago when they were developing the WRT54G? This "issue" is not the fault of DD-WRT. Blame Linksys and Broadcom. I don't even think that FreshTomato has this labeled "correctly". There is a point of collision between 802.1q interface naming conventions, shared code, other hardware platforms' interface names, etc. across the board. I surmise that a decision was made to standardize interface names in the webUI because of someone else's complaints. It is what it is.
I suspect "wl0.1" should have been "eth1.1" because eth1 was the 2.4GHz! At least, it showed "eth1" for 2.4G and "eth2" for 5G. In DD-WRT's WEBUI, it's just "wl0", no mention of "eth1". Anyway, that's for a new thread.
I wonder what you would see when executing the command "ifconfig" in that Tomato router. Thanks.

Possibly also related in the source codes of DD-WRT:
Need time to really read them all. But "ctf" is definitely in sysinit-broadcom.c!
Might also explain the mystery of broken port-forwading when CTF was enabled? That will be a secondary objective. _________________ Router: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)

Unless you have an NDA with either Broadcom or BrainSlayer, you won't realize how much of a Don Quixote quest this is. It's best to just leave it alone. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

I am excpecting nothing out of this quest. _________________ Router: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)
