Hello fellow DD-WRT users. I have two WRT3200ACM routers running R48810. that both exhibit the same behavior over time. it doesn't matter what software rev I'm on the same issue is present on any. as you can see from my previous post i was fiddling with VAP and poof my radio will no longer turn on at all with a VAP ANY VAP for either 2.5gh or 5ghz radio. I experienced this about 3 months ago with router #1 and shrugged it off I didn't need the VAP anymore. I'm now having the issue with Router #2. i've factory defaulted from the gui, factory defaulted from the hard button, loaded and reloaded the software, upgraded and downgraded (2x every time so both partitions are the same) and no change. after factory default all i did was change the password, and create 1VAP under the 5ghz, and 1 VAP under the 2.4ghz radio. radio shuts off. remove the vap radio turns back on.
can anyone help me figure this out? if not both routers are headed to the trash i've had a good number of "odd" issues with the marvell chipset and I'm at my wits end. Please help.

ah yes P.S
I don't even have to delete the VAP to get the radio to turn back on if I change the VAP from an AP to disabled. radio turns back on. turn it back to AP and it shuts off. ahhh

Do not enable wlan2, it's vestigial, hardware originally meant for DFS radar detection with no external antennas.

All configuration details to reproduce otherwise I'm going to assume a bunch of things like do not use auto channel.

good point, i was a bit vague due to my frustration. my settings are below for the primary, the VAPS are basically the same. keep in mind this was working fine, until i loaded an emergency config on the router due to an outage (which i've done probably 50-100 times in total during testing and outages . I backed up the config before I blew it out. when I put it back on i've got this problem. the issue remains even when not using my config.

Return Beacon Interval to default (100).

First thing beacon intervals are bad. Marvell routers do not like anything but default 100, maybe increments of 100.
Generally for each VAP enabled add 100 TU to Beacon, e.g. 1 VAP would be 200, and set DTIM to 1 for same radio.
But I am not sure how Marvell hardware behaves with this method, though should be correct and be able to handle.

Start over all defaults, nvram erase && reboot, set channels only nothing advanced then go about setting up VAPs.

performed your request exactly issue still present screenies to show. found it interesting I can do a channel survey and it see's wireless SSID's looks like it's RX but won't TX. the indicator to me that it isn't working is when the "channel" is unknown

Quite honestly, if this is not on the current release, and this issue is fixed since 48810, then we're probably not doing anyone any favors.

Wait what? We are not on r50500 with the shiny round numbers? Maybe r50516 soon too (or not).
