I have an Archer C7 V5 running DD-WRT v3.0-r50176
It is connected to a hard drive formatted as NTFS and I have the following issue: I can access the share from Windows but after browsing a couple of seconds, the router reboots.

This sounds like of of those quick fix workarounds that shouldn't be a requirement strickly speaking, but and since our ksmbd is not and cannot be in sync with upstream, such issues will likely stay unless there's some patch that can be pulled in that doesn't touch the kernel APIS used by upstream.
Microsoft opened exFAT file system specification so they could allow access, open NTFS spec to Linux developers.
TLDR Paragon NTFS3 is still very much WIP and appears to be slowly stumbling along. NTFS-3G is fairly stagnant.
Would I expect to have reliable write access, any sort of stability or trust either driver with my data? Nope. Nope.

NTFS-3G works reliably well, I use it never had any issues. NTFS3 however only really over DD-WRT to do tests recently with samba and not on any data I wasn't willing to lose or that I have no backups for, also didn't let me down.
