s/drivers/firmware* The drivers have always been custom; SuperChannel feature has been around for quite some time (over 15 years). _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Yes, TP-Link ARCHER C7 v2.
Is r44715 the last version that only includes vanilla drivers, or was r44715 the first version with the modified dd-wrt drivers?
Why are you saying that it is pointless to go back?

Because of security and vulnerability patches in current releases of DD-WRT firmware and because if you encounter any issues on an older build, you will be told to upgrade to the current release in possibly a not-very-nice way. There is so much ongoing development and improvements and added security and vulnerability patches that going back is not a very wise move. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

I would love to use one of the newer builds, but the radio scheduling is broken for the 5GHZ band in any build I tried within the 8 months (always restoring back to factory settings after upgrading).
Sometimes it works for a few days, but then one day the WiFI is not turning on, and requires several restarts for the Wifi to turn on again.
I have an old build from 2019 where this feature works flawlessly, so I'm trying to find the latest build that only includes vanilla drivers, and before any of the dd-wrt drivers were introduced, as I suspect that's the root cause since the 2.4GHZ band is not affected.

Is there no option to select firmware type vanilla binary after select advanced settings checkbox for 5 GHz radio?
There is, but it doesn't make a difference. Same issue after 3-5 days. From what I've read, the dd-wrt driver is always loaded first and vanilla is swapped in after booting. So maybe that has something to do with it.
No, there is no need to reboot.
BS has implemented it that way.
The router always starts with the dd-wrt radio firmware.
THEN - a firmware crash is simulated and the vanilla firmware is loaded - without reboot and this is always the case.
Maybe this needs to be reassessed, but at the same time just because an old build 'works' does not prove anything.
If saying something is broken or to combine this with 'it worked before' provides next to nothing to identify or solve.
Full circle to this question, have you provided enough configuration information or all steps to reproduce a problem?
No, there is no need to reboot.
BS has implemented it that way.

the firmware-6 message is no error. its shown always if a firmware is loaded since firmware-6 is tried before loading firmware-5
reboot is not required if you switch to vanilla back and forth
