Hi,

I have tested the 802.11r with the two Router R9000 and Netgear R7800, both with QCA9984:

Quote:
when I ran from the area of the first router to the second with active Speedtest.net on an iphone, the download dropped from 240Mbps to about 100Mbps; but was not interrupted.
Between the first and second router is a concrete cover which is strong shielding. It was effectively switched between the two connections with no connection failure.

It would be nice if routers like the DAP-2660, R6000, NanoBeam with the QCA9882 chip could use the 802.11r (Fast Roaming) function.

There are devices with a QCA9882 chip that support 802.11r:
COMPEX WLE600VX miniPCIe module
Support of 802.11k

Maybe it is also possible under DD-WRT?

fixed for the dlink routers. for nanobeam i have to check. only wpa3 enabled devices do support it. this depends heavily on available flash space
edit:
nanobeam ac does already support it

@BrainSlayer

thank you very much for the fast fix.

with the next build I will test how/if Fast Roaming works between DAP-2660 and R9000 / R7800 Smile

Hi,

I have tested 802.11r (FT) with the new firmware DD-WRT v3.0-r50057 std (09/03/22) on the router Netgear R9000 and D-Link DAP-2660.

802.11r (FT) works, the test device (phone) stays connected on both router when I move from the first to the second room...

The results:
