I am looking for a definitive answer on whether there is a version of DD-WRT that will run on the Netgear WNDR4300 V2 hardware? Saw a thread about this from a few years back that suggested it was being worked on but I do not see anything more on it and the files for the V1 platform do not work on V2. The WIKI page for this router mentions the V2 platform but has some missing information. It does however say to use the same installation method as V1 which hints that it might be supported. The V2 platform is fairly different from V1 as shown in the following table:
v1 v2
CPU Atheros AR9344 560 MHz Qualcomm Atheros QCA9563 750 MHz
RAM 128 MB 128 MB
Flash 128 MB 128 MB
Switch Atheros AR8327 Qualcomm Atheros QCA8337N
Radios Atheros AR9344 / Atheros AR9580 Qualcomm Atheros QCA9563 / Atheros AR9580

I am thinking V2 is just not supported but thought it worth asking the experts to make sure I am not missing something. By the way, I tried the V1 files with the stock firmware web interface update method and it just complains that the DD-WRT IMG file is not compatible.

First mentioned in the thread What about the WNDR4300? - Page 22 by tatsuya46. Still not listed in the Supported Devices Wiki under Netgear, nor in the current release downloads folder (50146), and nobody ever responded to this post Need help please Netgear wndr4300 V2 probably because it was in the Broadcom forum, not Atheros. The only way a device usually sees support is if hardware is donated so that the developer can test firmware images in house.
