I would first go back to stock and after going back do a reset and then upload DDWRT

See the wiki: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E3200

Flash the build for initial flash which is a Linux K2.6 build

Reset to defaults *after* flashing after you have put in username and password flash the most recent K3.x build (which actually is Linux K4.4)

Reset again *after* upgrading and put settings in manually.

K4.4 have native WireGuard

I do not know, sometimes you need a back to stock file.

For DDWRT according to the wiki you can, so probably also for FT that should be possible

If flashing from FT to stock doesn't work, TFTP / Management mode flash back to stock, if you must. Not really required to flash stock for going from FT to DD - but a hard reset is definitely a good idea.
