Hi.
This is happening more and more.
A second PC running from the ethernet port every now and again, runs at 3mbps.
I`ve found, if I unplug from the wall, and restart, it fixes the connection.
Any idea why I have to do this?
Many thanks.
Running DD-WRT v3.0-r49677 std (08/10/22) if that helps?
Try a new ethernet cable. I doubt the power adapter is already going bad or there is other hardware issues involved. Some folks add a cooling fan to draw air out of the top of these routers to alleviate the possibility of heat-induced issues. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

I concur with the above suggestion to try adding a fan. For a quick test just find any fan from the back of a closet somewhere to blow on the router. Watch the CPU temp in the GUI so you know it's doing something. If running the router cooler makes the squirrels run away, then great! Find a proper USB fan (use USB1, not USB2, as the latter is only powered if you enable USB things in the GUI).
I run six WRT1900ACSv2 routers, two of which were occasionally misbehaved in odd ways until I added fans. I have fans on most of the others as well, just in case. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.

I think somehow we are not seeing the entire picture. I also concur on the fan and checking Ethernet cable(s). Wouldn't be the first time that we've seen where a less-than-proper cable was involved. Could you also shed some light on configurations and usage scenario when this slowdown occurs? _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Just found something out.
It happened again.
Checked the Internet speed is only down on my Networked PC in my bedroom.
(TV is ok)
Instead of restarting the router, I powered down my PC, and unplugged the BT Broadband Extender Flex 1000 from the wall, reconnected, and my speed is up to normal.
(I know these are frowned upon, but only way at the moment I can get a wired connection).
At least now, I seem to have narrowed it down (or I think I have) to the extenders.
If thats true, I`m a tad embarrased.

Powerline tech YMMV. Much has to be taken in consideration while using these off the shelf solutions. You would likely be better served with wireless extenders, but like powerline your unique environmental impact on that setup, may dictate how well these work/perform, not forgetting also depending on clients capabilities and what bandwidth you need from them and they are able to get via wireless.
There is also nothing better then turning it off and on again every so often.
