Did you press "apply" , wait until the WLAN was started and then reload the page?
Because Canada does not seem to have 160Mhz channels at the moment:
Code:
country CA: DFS-UNSET
   (2402 - 2472 @ 40), (N/A, 30), (N/A)
   (5150 - 5250 @ 80), (N/A, 23), (N/A), NO-OUTDOOR
   (5250 - 5350 @ 80), (N/A, 24), (N/A)
   (5470 - 5600 @ 80), (N/A, 24), (N/A)
   (5650 - 5730 @ 80), (N/A, 24), (N/A)
   (5735 - 5835 @ 80), (N/A, 30), (N/A)

But Germany does:
Code:
country DE: DFS-UNSET
   (2400 - 2483 @ 40), (N/A, 20), (N/A)
   (5150 - 5250 @ 80), (N/A, 23), (N/A), NO-OUTDOOR
   (5250 - 5350 @ 80), (N/A, 20), (N/A), NO-OUTDOOR
   (5470 - 5725 @ 160), (N/A, 26), (N/A)
   (5725 - 5875 @ 80), (N/A, 13), (N/A)
   (5945 - 6425 @ 160), (N/A, 23), (N/A), NO-OUTDOOR

When I select Canada as the regulatory domain, the GUI does not show any VHT160 selection, only 80+80.

yes i have tried that. i have switched devices and browsers as well. I never see VHT160 or 80+80. i have tried every channel and extension combo possible. I have also reset all settings to factory and tried again and still cannot access 160mhz or 80+80. Also i noticed channels 116-128 are missing from the list which was not the case with factory firmware.

Router/Version: Linksys WRT1900ACS v1 / DD-WRT v3.0-r49741 std (08/15/22)
File/Kernel: CLI webflash / wrt1900acs-webflash.bin
Previous/Reset: r49567 & r49681 / No
Mode/Status: Gateway, DNSmasq, OpenVPN Client, FreeRADIUS Server, VLANs, VAPs, WPA3, Radar Detection (DFS), 14 dBm, AutoChannel / Uptime 20 min
Issues/Errors: I had major trouble with this build. I re-curled and re-flashed twice, the first time from r49567 and the second time from r49681, but no difference. Wifi would not connect from any client on 3 out of 4 reboots, and on the one reboot where one wifi client did seem to connect, there was no WAN (or possibly just no VPN). Everything worked fine after reverting to r49567 and then to r49681, all without any resets.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

the use of channels 118-128 is not allowed in Canada.
and channel 116 is available in 20Mhz mode (or in 80MHz mode if you activate "allow channel overlapping")
just as no 160Mhz channels are allowed in Canada

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sforshee/wireless-regdb.git/tree/db.txt

by the way you should try the channels 149-161, they are allowed in canada with 30dB (maybe this solves your lower range problem)

to summarize again

Why your WRT3200 does not show VH160 even with a different Regulatory Domain is beyond my knowledge.
We have had WRT3200s here in the past that displayed VHT160.

by the way, the data are from the official wireless regdb from Seth Forshee - the database is used by pretty much all opensource projects

that is strange because I have seen factory firmware use channel 124 with vht160 frequently automatically.

In DDWRT, I managed to get vht160 option by switching to Germany_bfwa. Germany alone doesn't include VHT160. However I'm unable to get 5ghz to work with VHT160 unlike factory firmware. seems wlan0 dies and enters disble state after switching to vht160 and my 160mhz revievers cannot detect any signals. I tried all available channels with appropiate extensions

As I said, the WRT3200 is a bit like a black box.
It has hard coded tables in the chipset.
And there are different versions with calibration data EU/US etc version.

I do not know what the current status is but as far as I know this can not be completely bypassed.
Supposedly the transmit power settings can not be bypassed.
But I have not dealt with it very much because I do not own a WRT3200.
That's why I said it might be possible that you can change the regulatory domain in the GUI but EEPROM doesn't allow it.

I don't know then this is probably not a CA version.

All sorts of reputable sources say that the channels are not approved in Canada.
We also have some Canadians on the forum (who would have complained long ago if the channels were allowed).

Yes it's strange, and I'm not sure why the factory firmware would switch to 100/124 channels on 160mhz despite my choice of 36-64 (only channels available on 160Mhz). This is a Canadian model router. Unfortunately I can not find my ch124 screenshot but I can switch partitions to get one if needed. For now I'm content with VHT80 on CH56 at 1Gbps throughput, it's also a mystery why CH56 has so much more range than all others. It is better than factory in range and speed with latest release.
