I'm using the most recent build of dd-wrt, r49626, and have good results with it. I'm trying to get the most distance I can out of the 5ghz wifi.
Does anyone have recommendations for positioning the antennas on this router? Netgear seems to recommend all antennas being straight which is how I have mine currently. Obviously, they allow you to angle them for a reason.

Yes, that is the correct position.
Reposition them so they are still facing straight up if you hang it on a wall. You can fine tune to set them 90 degrees to the line facing the receiving unit.
If the antenna is vertical, signal goes horizontal.
If antenna is horizontal, signal goes vertical.
BTW, how big is this space you are working with? 2000 square feet? Is it safe to assume this is your house? _________________ For people who are new to the dd-wrt forums >> http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#rtfm

Yes, It's in my two-story house. I get pretty good coverage like this but just wondered if antenna positioning would make a difference. The cable internet comes in to a corner of my house upstairs. I know it would be better to have the router centrally located but that's not possible so it sits near the modem.
It's the opposite far corner downstairs that I was trying to increase the signal to as much as possible.
I suppose you could try setting the antennas where they are diagonal. like inbetween horizonatl and vertical. I think that would be the cost effective way of getting the wifi around.
But if that is not effective then you will need a second dd-wrt router and make use of WDS or wifi mesh. in your case, another atheros router or r7800 _________________ For people who are new to the dd-wrt forums >> http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#rtfm
