Hi guys,

on here http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#GL.iNet the GL-AR300M is listed as

"donated router needed"

i mailed with the designer / technical rep , Alfie Zhao last week. He told me they donated a router approx 8 month ago.

Is there any update on this ? I really do like their small devices as travel routers.

Would totally love to see DD-WRT support added to this.

Please look into the matter.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Yours sincerely,

my-clever-me

It's not "official" support, but Buffalo WHR-300hp2 firmware can be flashed on the https://www.gl-inet.com/mt300n/

By following these steps:

https://www.gl-inet.com/using-ddwrt-in-gl-mt300n-and-gl-mt300a/

Once you've done that, you can update to a newer version, such as:

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/09-19-2017-r33375/buffalo_whr_300hp2/

It's a handy little device, and the above DD-WRT version even has OpenVPN support.

I'd also love to see the AR300M supported, since it offers the Atheros chip and a speed bump:

https://www.gl-inet.com/ar300m/

And the new AR300M(D) will have both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, making it one of the few travel routers I've seen with that functionality, besides the:

http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat-9_TL-WR902AC.html

Demand for these two devices probably isn't high compared to full-size routers (in terms of what the "delay" is, since I imagine supporting an infinite number of routers is pretty much impossible compared to the number of contributors), but they're definitely a neat thing to have in your bag of tricks, especially for folks like me who find OpenWRT/LEDE a bit intimidating or hard to work with.

Hi to everybody, I bought a GL iNet GL-MT300N V1. I didn't get the V2 for 2$ more only because I read this and I don't know if it could work also on V2... Yes/NO?
https://www.gl-inet.com/using-ddwrt-in-gl-mt300n-and-gl-mt300a/
I flash it with the firmware in the link, (Buffalo) of 2016.
The first question is: Than I found the same beta but newer here:

https://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads

Or it's "tested" only the firmware of 2016? Because I have olredy flashed with firmware.uimage of 07/01/2018

We are talking about not officially supported device... but...

If I live in Europe firmware-eu.bin should be better or not? And at the end: Is it possible (I mean if I can do by myself) to add usb support for usb stick/hard disk? Because I don't have the USB and NAS tab... Many thanks and excuse me fo too many question in my first post... May be we can help some people more.

At the end I like to have a powerfull, small, dd-wrt router (Openvpn Smile )with usb support... better if wireless AC... so I whait for DD-WRT in the new TP-link. Thank you again... Smile

Adding device support requires hardware donation or complete information, including a full flash dump.
