They just don't sell like that from a retail store.
Suits me very well. It's box went straight to dumpster before I ever plugged it in anyways.
Daughter will be very happy...suspposed to get her fiber line hooked up in day or so...

Im likely around same age bracket as to be classified a old timer, Im a few years older than Brainslayer. And its not about user age, its about convenience on some pages.
Your video though shows this working as intended and if you read the behavior change announcement, this feature is only triggered when the page scrolls.

Issues/Errors: I had to use tftp mode to get the DD-WRT to flash over the Netgear stock firmware. After the flash was successful the web GUI was having all kinds of problems. Some tabs wouldn't load, or they would load and I couldn't change any settings. On Windows 10 I tried Firefox, Edge and Chrome all with the same results. I also tried Firefox from an Ubuntu VM and it was no better. Googling yielded some hints about tcp nvram settings, which seemed to make it better, but not completely. I noticed the NTP server text box was blank, but showed a server name and 2 IP addresses in that dim disabled text look. I couldn't get the web page to respond enough to change it through the GUI, so through Telnet I changed it to a server in North America. After a reboot it seems fine now and the web pages are responsive. That seems super weird to me.

@Flappjakk after getting to DD-WRT did you reset the router to defaults? You should have to ensure no stock variables are left.
Also the dim text on NTP field is a placeholder that shows what is possible to configure, however you can and are recommended to leave this blank to use auto resolution, and if you read the help text on the right hand side it will tell you this also.
Yes I did reset defaults, several times actually. I think I read that tftp flashing restores defaults, then after the factory-to-ddwrt tftp flash I flashed again via Administration -> Firmware Upgrade with "Reset to Factory Defaults" selected. When that didn't help I used Administration -> Factory Defaults -> Yes -> Apply Settings. When that didn't help I used the reset button on the back of the router and at some point used the nvram erase with a reboot from CLI. The only thing that that helped was setting an NTP server, which I agree doesn't make much sense.

Unless you used an older release's factory-to-ddwrt.img, there was no need to use the webupgrade.bin file in the flashing process, whatsoever. Double-tap flashing like this is only required on specific devices, and the R7800 is not one of them. I have never seen NTP having to be set to fix anything. What is more likely suspect here is the double-tap, cluttered browser cache, and not using a separate, preferably portable browser to access DD-WRT webUI. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

If you have the latest Netgear firmware on the router then you can also flash a current dd-wrt firmware via WebIF.
it does not require tftp
And if you don't enter anything in the field for the NTP server then the embedded NTP servers will be used.
So you don't have to specify an NTP server at all.
and you don't have to change any TCP settings - because what you probably found in the vastness of the internet has been the default setting for a long time.
As KP already said, probably a problem with the browser cache.
Just press the keys CTRL+F5 that usually fixes browser and cache problems
Edit:
Anyway, very strange if you use build r49626.
Just flashed r49626 on my R7800 and reset to factory defaults - everything works fine.
