Hi there,

I have Buffalo WZR-600DHP. Suddenly is started to give IPs addresses starting with 10.0.1.* (for both wireless and wired connections) instead of 192.168.0.* (my network configuration).

Then I restarted it (power off/power on), but after that, I cannot access the web interface in http://192.168.0.1. Then when I check my computer's IP configuration, it shows the router as 10.0.1.1 (it probably changed its own IP).

But for my despair the web interface on http://10.0.1.1 doesn't reply, even SSH, nothing.

Seems that it lost part of its settings, because I can connect on it wirelessly because the SSID and password are still the same.

Any idea to help me to recover my router without a factory reset?

Thanks in advance

What build?
Can you reach it with SSH/Telnet at any address?

Current builds have automatic reset after 5 failed reboots (I think) so try 192.168.1.1.
Stock Buffalo IP is 192.168.11.1 so try that.

Realistically you are probably looking at doing a factory reset. Then load your bakup.

DD-WRT doesn't change the LAN IP of your router automatically when the upstream router is using the same IP subnet as configured like some stock firmware does that I'm aware of. Is your upstream router in the 10.0.0.x subnet? Are you sure you are running DD-WRT and not stock Buffalo Firmware or OpenWRT?

Thank you @bushant,

No idea about the build...

I did the factory reset, SSID is now BUFFALO-something, I successfully connected my notebook with a CABLE, router is 10.0.1.1, but no response from admin panel on http:\\10.0.1.1, any idea?

You are using either Buffalo Professional firmware or the Buffalo User-Friendly firmware, not DD-WRT. This is based on the wifi SSID you've provided and information in the following manuals. While the Professional firmware is DD-WRT, it is not anything close to current DD-WRT development status, most likely.

WZR-WHR_Routers_DD-WRT_Manual

WZR-600DHP_UM_Friendly

Try default IP of 192.168.11.1 or 192.168.11.100.

Quote:
The default Buffalo WZR-600DHP DD-WRT IP Address is: 192.168.11.1 After entering the IP address of your router you can simply press enter. If all goes well you will see the following screen: Screenshot of Buffalo WZR-600DHP_DD-WRT. You should see a box prompting you for your username and password.

If you unit has a Buffalo professional DD-WRT build pre-flashed onto the router and that is what you wre using the IP should be 192.168.11.1 after a reset.

If you had a BrainSlayer build the IP should be 192.168.1.1.

Doesn't sound like it reset properly.
