I'm very uneducated in networking and everything being discussed here. However, I have managed to successfully flash 2 Archer C7 v2 routers to DD-WRT build 3.0-r49544.
Both routers are currently identical with the exception of the SSID and wireless security.
I have an Eero Pro plugged in to a Netgear switch. I am trying to get both routers setup and working with DD-WRT so that I can use each one independently with an international VPN. One with a UK dedicated IP and the other with a Spain dedicated IP. Setting up the VPN on each is simple enough but every time I plug in the ethernet from Port 1 of either router to the Netgear switch (which is connected to my Eero Pro) I very quickly begin to lose connection.
I have limited knowledge but I don't believe the Eero is the issue. But more likely the setup of the routers. I just need to get the internet to come through correctly and then I will move on to the VPN side of things.
I have attached a screen shot of the basic setup page for one of the routers, where I believe the issue resides. (but maybe I am wrong)
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! "Go here, click this, change that to that" type of instruction is what works best with this newbie at the moment but I will take anything you are kind enough to give.
If you mean with port 1 the WAN port (the port which is separate form the other 4)
Then do the following set the first Archer "Local IP address" instead of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1
The second Archer set "Local IP address" to 192.168.3.1
I actually mean Port 1 of 4. I have 5 ports total on the back of the C7. 1-4 yellow ports, and then 1 "Internet" port.
I have been connecting yellow port 1 to the Netgear switch. Is that incorrect? if so how should I connect it and what should I change in the DD-WRT settings?
