I have a TP-Link Archer C7 v4 (Atheros) running DD-WRT for several years and upgraded every 3 - 4 months to the latest revision of DD-WRT.
So I recently upgraded from DD-WRT r48741 (04/26/22) to r49544 (07/22/2022) and I've noticed that some of my scripts were failing.
iwconfig is no longer there. I tried other revisions in June and May, same results. Finally, I reverted back to r48741 so my scripts are functional again, for the time being.
So I assume that at some points in time after r48741, removing iwconfig has been done on purpose.
So these days, how does a script control the router's radio (setting TX power, for example) ?
Can't confirm, but it looks like iwconfig is a depreciated command and replaced with iw.
Thank you! It's exactly that! Also iw seems to be a much more elaborate command than iwconfig with many options and parameters, so when it's all about improvements, I'm for it!
And the good thing, since r48741 (04/26/22) on my Archer router has both commands, I can conveniently convert my scripts first, and then move to the current version of DD-WRT.
