Periodic panic(?) and loss of all network r49467 / r49392 R7000P. Uptime resets.

Only thing in the log that looks interesting is the below - that message/frequency started about 20 minutes before the latest crash.

What else can I collect that might help?

Thanks.

Please provide all applicable router configuration details. We don't know if this is a normal gateway with radios in AP mode, if this is a Station mode, Repeater mode, etc.

Very basic setup. Router/AP - wifi and wired clients. The only things I've configured are some static DHCP assignments, NTP, and few access restrictions. No other services/features configured.

The spew started again but again stopped couple of hours ago, apparently without restart.

Thanks

post a pic of your wi-fi settings, as well wifi security settings (mask the password)..
I guess its bad settings...related..(or client incompatibility more unlikely), as my R7000 is rock solid...

His router is a r7000P a different beast to be sure with the dhd driver which has recently received patches. So likely still buggy as well.

We cant confirm it either way without those setup screenshots and client details.

It reset a couple more times overnight.

The settings I haven't changed from the (much older) build I upgraded from. I'll try and find time today to do a reset and reconfigure.

How can I help with client details or additional logging? Can it save a kernel/core dump if I attach storage?

No new clients before/after upgrade. Wifi clients are a wide mix - iphone x, iphone 13, ipad, surface laptops, and bunch of small devices (receivers, printer, iot....)

It just reset again Sad

Are there particular builds where the driver took updates/patches? I can try downgrading to a build before to see if that fixes it - might help rule it in/out as the cause?

Downgrading wont help especially 5Ghz radio side.

That screenshot wont help, we need your wifi setup screenshots, and not necessarily the security in use, its the rest that matters.

You have optimized settings here https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=327595 and it shows the screenshots we are looking after.

All Broadcom Northstar devices use the dhd driver; the key difference is the 5GHz radio. The only other difference is the specific CPU model.

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/browser/src/linux/universal/linux-4.4/.config_northstar_smp_debug#L1363

Most of the commits between 49368 and 49383 apply to the R7000P; several of them apply to all Northstar devices. Northstar = Broadcom ARM

That post is from 2020 - are the recommendations still current? There are a lot of options added since then as well.

Thanks.
