I have the TP-Link WDR3600 v. 1.5. It stau on the newest build of DD-WRT. I'm explore configuration options, because I want to optimize my settings. I have options as on picture. Options: IP Filter Settings have maximum ports value. It's set for 4096, but default is: 32768. That's very big value. I can use this for this parameter. I'm never touch this options, but I think is some problem in GUI compose. That 32768 can be good and acceptable ?
I set mine to 16384 and usually don't use more than half 8k of that number with torrents.

It's a default setting; the webUI should also show the defaults on a per-device class basis. Only higher-end flagship devices have that "default" set. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Interesting. My R7800 says that the default will be 4096 and the value is 32768, while the TP-Link WDR3600 v. 1.5 says that the default will be 32768 and the value is 4096.
Yep, whatever the underlying code is, it's backwards, apparently. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Not on your router.

I'm dont touch this better. On my device was 4096 always. I'm never touch this settings. It's puzzling why that big value is there as default.
I have never touched this either. On my Netgear R7800 it is set to 32768. Perhaps the firmware sets it based on the speed of the CPU?
It should be based on a platform config item.

I emailed BrainSlayer about this, and the following commit was made:
EA8500 after reset = 32768 ---> Default says 4096
...merely a cosmetic issue -- was correct a while back and is correct on many units.
The broadcomy E2500 default is 4096 and is so when reset --- as it should be for the lowerend pissy unit

Haven't done a hard reset on either of these to see if there would be a change, but I can always do a hard reset at some point today and re-configure from scratch, although I don't think it will make a difference:
Since we're comparing... show me yours, I'll show ya mine... this is a fresh install and upgrade to each new release from r49268:

I see that you have TCP Congestion Control set to hybla. That is another setting I have never touched and I have only noticed it set to westwood. Why do you prefer hybla? A quick Google search finds a poll about this setting from a couple years ago:
The setting is irrelevant for regular Internet traffic and LAN traffic.
It only matters if you run a TCP application on the router itself, e.g. the iperf3 server.
i used to be on Vegas for years...as those ware showing best result, especially for torrents...and DL..
now moved to cubic as native linux setting or BBR if its router supported..

yep i do have, but in both cases torrents with appropriate settings open a hole in the NAT via specific ports...so connection is direct...
you can test TCP congestion control with utorrent/qbitorrent/transmission as i did.. _________________ Atheros
