I'm trying to understand how to set my wireless networks for my initial setup for my WRT3200ACN.

My understanding was that the 3200ACN is able to automatically send devices to either 2.4ghz or 5ghz. But the DD-WRT setup gives me separate options for the ath0 and ath1 radios.

Do I just give both radios the exact same name and password?

Alternately I would love to see some examples of good setups that I could try.

The client chooses which radio or access point to connect, not WRT3200ACM.

You can set same key and SSID but better to give each radio a unique SSID.

Set your channels, not auto. Good android wifi scanning app is WiFi Analyzer.

I would personally not set the same name and password. Same password is fine, but I'd name them something like "mynetwork_24" and "mynetwork_5". This can reduce trouble for devices that only support 2.4GHz. Personally I put all my slow devices on one, and fast devices on the other. Smile
