We have already explained this to you several times in the following thread:

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1262625#1262625

Enabled radios always send data/traffic
For example, beacon frames are always sent periodically which generates "traffic" even if no client is connected at all.

You can see this e.g. in the WebIF in the tab "Status > WLAN".

There is a field "Packet info" at the bottom of the page where you can see the TX packets and then you will see that Router is always sending data.

It may be that the LED's are now more sensitive but that seems to have no priority for the developer of DD-WRT.

@ervau I can understand that the flickering lights are not what you want, some routers even have a switch to turn off the lights (e.g. my R7800 ) and there are scripts for some routers that turn off the lights but using a piece of tape also works Smile

I`m up and stable on my AP over 24 hrs. However, my Station rebooted after 5hrs. and has been stable since (18hrs.). I noticed before on every new build this happens at least once to my station and enabled the log and a remote server to try and catch it. This could be related to the issue The Joker referred to about the NTP time resetting as I have no time on the station. I am no log reader but I noticed for short periods of time it seems to stop sending logs and then for no reason it begins sending again. I included a few lines when this happens. Maybe it nothing, but just trying to help

Those lines in red are from connecting to the webUI, nothing more AFAIK. You should resolve your NTP issues if time is not being set and synchronized.

Is that normal for it to stop sending for 2 hrs? During that time the router was in heavy use.

OK, I just had a reboot of my Station and was able to capture the log. Things look pretty much the same before and after the boot. I can post the affected part if anyone is interested.

@ramblin You need NTP to be working fully. Firewall depends on it and so do all services. tthat use Cron or require semi accurate time.

Most consumer routers dont have a real time clock only software clock and depending on load (And you said it was under heavy use) the time skew will be greater and greater so things start to go out of sync naturally.

When NTP updates, by default it restarts firewall and any services running that depend on Cron or whatever. So without a working NTP, who knows what will happen especially under heavy loads, so in that sense what you see is to be expected, seriously efed up but expected, because everything is now out of sync and heavy loads skewing the software clock further and at this time logs which log time stamps well, you get the picture.

No error message that I could see. My error was leaving the lease expiration blank. Putting in a value there seems to make it work. My R6400 running DD-WRT v3.0-r43334 doesn't seem to have this requirement. Just noted in case anyone else has this issue.
Edit - I seem to have to "save" every entry. Just hitting "add" loses the entry I just made. A tad irritating when you are migrating and have 30+ entries to make.

More edit: Using the '+' in the Status | LAN |DHCP Clients to add a static lease doesn't fill in the lease expiration but it seem to take.

That is nothing new as far as the UX or UI goes for static leases. But you should be able to delete whichever lease you wish now.
