I use a Linksys WRT3200ACM with DD-WRT and NordVPN on my Open VPN client.
Is it possible to exclude certain websites from using VPN in order to make them work again?
Thanks, Tom!
Thank You for your help and moving my post. I'm not a real router expert, I just managed to set up DD-WRT and the OpenVPN client with a manual.
I will try the suggested links and hope to be successful.
BTW my build: Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r46259 std (04/03/21)
Now on to your question, yes it is possible to exclude some websites (sort of).
See the chapter about Policy Based Routing (PBR), in this case we are talking about destination policy based routing.
How to do that and the limitations are discussed.
Thanks so much for your help.
After upgrading to the latest build I set up Open VPN for Nord as described.
Works a lot smoother now.
Using the "Additional Config" in the OpenVPN I now can open a certain URL without using VPN with this command:
route URL 255.255.255.255 net_gateway #URL
and it opens up again.
Best regards, Tom!

One more question comes to my mind though:
I know now how to reroute an URL, but how do I reroute an app on my iPhone?
When dd-wrt sees a packet from your phone, it has no way to know what app it came from and so cannot make routing decisions based on that. So to treat different apps differently, you'd have to use a VPN app in your phone. Not all VPN providers offer this, but some do. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.
