Welcome to Broadcom r48954 beta release thread for reporting, feedback to developers & community benefit.
Please do not flash builds until installation is understood, risks involved and device specific recovery methods.
Avoid discussions, create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.

Downloads: HTTPS, FTP

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (http only) or 'curl -O {file URL}' (http, https, ftp). 'write {file} linux' then 'reboot'.

Trac SVN: repository since last build r48897 (mirror)

OpenVPN 2.5.6: Changelog, Guides, Server, PBR, DNS, Kill Switch, Watchdog, Reverse PBR, Client, Multiple, tips & scripts.
WireGuard 1.0.20211208/Tools: Changelog, Guides, Client, Server, Advanced, PBR, KS, tips & scripts. Thanks to BS & egc!

Notes:
Experimental for 8MB+ K2.x devices: broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1. • MIPS @ kernel 4.4. • TP-Link Archer C8 v2, v3 support.
mDNS/Avahi ZFS dnscrypt bootfail PHP mdadm Tor DoT Redirect SmartDNS freeradius htop rtw88 mt76 ath10k ath5k snmp
In-kernel Samba (ksmbd 3.4.4++++): guest behavior selectable. • WSD updateANTFS/NTFS3 kernel mode driver++++
New DD-WRT inspired themes conversion by the-joker & BrainSlayer, micro builds excluded, UI theme test bug hunt thread.
Add static, delete DHCP lease from Status -> LAN clients table, Services, upgrades to forwarding in NAT / QoS tabs & more.
Let's Enhance: DTAG, Tagging, Switch Config, Dynamic WDS, Stations, Site Survey, RadioName, 802.11r and recent changes.

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in WebUI but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. See Trac ticket #6246.
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Try client or repeater modes, but YMMV.
VAPs not working at boot are fixed, both unbridged (r40634) and bridged (r47822). Please test, remove startup commands.
If startup scripts do not work from USB add delay (wait script), sleep 25 or try Administration -> Commands -> Save USB.
Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missing via Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'.
Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!

Important:
Detail issues & relevant configs, logs: syslog klog 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages' nvram set console_debug=1, serial.
• Firewall NAT: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' & 'cat /tmp/.ipt'. Misc: strace tcpdump wireshark.
• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.

Example Template:
Code:
[b]Router/Version: [/b]
[b]File/Kernel: [/b]
[b]Previous/Reset: [/b]
[b]Mode/Status: [/b]

To avoid cluttering the post with a duplicate information about the issues Ive noticed, I leave links instead to the threads concerning these reports.

Im asking community members willing to test and confirm/reports the issues below and thanking them in advance for their cooperation and helping to make DD-WRT better.

1) Switching WIFI APs in succession reboots router (if able to duplicate please post serial logs)

2) Some services require multiple clicks of apply to start (if able to duplicate please confirm each of the steps on https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1262617#1262617

Thanks for the cooperation and help in reproducing and testing/reporting

Other issues include Administrator -> Commands (run command) https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1262725#1262725 for the 999th wonder of the world. A secret feature, its not a bug I swear, cof.

Does the router work?: I'm now running this build upgraded from previous r48943 and newer test builds in between, currently on r48954 build.

Router ANus RT-AC68U E1 detected as C1

Everything works unless you start digging deeper. (none of the issues above impede normal functioning, just need more persistent users if those areas are of use to you)

With IPv6 enabled, I found on IPv6 speed test sites the using the CTF shortcut forwarding engine gave me much slower results than using SFE.

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC66U rev A1
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r48954 giga (05/23/22)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.302 #16020 Mon May 23 05:48:02 +07 2022 mips DD-WRT
Mode: Router, WAP, DHCP Server disabled, All services off except Syslogd and Klogd.
Reset: No.
Previous: 05-18-2022-r48897, Reset: yes, flashed yesterday
Status: Working well until br0 gets touched.
Temperatures: WL0 48.2 °C / WL1 56.7 °C with open case.

Switch port 1 is the only interface in vlan3 and connects this WAP to the rest of my network.

Bridge config after boot:
Code:

[16:24:06:565] root@ddwrt: ~# brctl show
[16:24:07:905] bridge name   bridge id      STP enabled   interfaces
[16:24:07:910] br0      8000.ac220bac220b   no      eth1
[16:24:07:913]                      eth2
[16:24:07:914]                      vlan1
[16:24:07:916]                      vlan3

If for example I change the Wireless Channel of the 2.4GHz radio and hit Save followed by Apply Settings. I get the following:

Code:

[16:24:49:927] brctl show
[16:24:49:932] bridge name   bridge id      STP enabled   interfaces
[16:24:49:935] br0      8000.ac220bac220b   no      eth1
[16:24:49:939]                      eth2
[16:24:49:942]                      vlan1

Since vlan3 is missing no connection is possible until vlan3 is added to br0 again.

Code:

[16:24:49:942] root@ddwrt: ~# brctl addif br0 vlan3
[16:24:58:931] [ 6774.958275] device vlan3 entered promiscuous mode
[16:24:58:934] [ 6774.963292] br0: port 4(vlan3) entered forwarding state
[16:24:58:939] [ 6774.968810] br0: port 4(vlan3) entered forwarding state
[16:24:58:949] root@ddwrt: ~# [ 6789.997680] br0: port 4(vlan3) entered forwarding state

This example is my best case.

Worst case had only eth2 remaining as bridge interface.
