Hello, i flashed yesterday build 48886 from stock and everything went fine except until i click on wifi tab. gui seems to crash for about less then a minute or so then it goes back to normal until i click on wifi again. Same happends on previous build. I tried an older build 47481 and wifi tab seems to be working. Anyone using the latest build that actully works?
Ah yes I forgot to mention, I did an factory reset and even nvram erase. Didnt work. I also tried Edge as browser same issue even with the previous build. I starting to think its something with the build.
An nvram commmit would be redundant, as the reboot command already handles this.
Maybe it is supposed to, but without the commit, the erase did not take on my R9000. I was worried my router was toast until I did the erase and then the commit. _________________ Netgear R9000

i did 2 liner instead, i never had any issues with
nvram erase
reboot
just did that way on R9000/R7800 as im playing with VLAN's/SmartDNS ATM, in general no need of nvram commit after CLI erase.. as it erases all values and on reboot it restores default values that are saved on the other partition...if im not wrong... _________________ Atheros

Is it possible to flash the r9000 firmware instead on the xr700?
The following (*) relating to R9000 may be of interest.
---> Give the R9000 sufficient time after each Save or Apply Settings to update its relevant logic internally.
---> Don't rush. Keep your eyes on the four indicator lights (starting from Power) between changes.
---> R9000 takes longer to boost up. It’s kinda like a semi-trailer truck (with TWO physical switches inside), compared to a SUV like the… R7800. The comparison applies to starts, stops and rounding the corner, but does not apply to normal cruising speeds or carrying capacity. So ‘drive’ it accordingly. 😊
---> Pressing power on button of R9000, at times after some changes in settings, might not restore it to a full-operating mode. In this case, use WIFI connection to enter its mgt web page and do reboot again via:
Administration/Management/Reboot Router tabs
It has always been a life-saving moment for me on my R9000 setup when it refuses to play ball.
(Sometimes you need try connecting it TWICE, in succession, for the wireless connection to stay on (an unexplained issue in my case).
End note: I am not sure if Netgear engineers deliberately made it so complex for the R9000 to be used with an unaffiliated 3rd party firmware due to its commercial arrangements, e.g. protecting interests of DUMA OS aimed at normal users who treat a router very much like a black box. No offense intended. (I have a background in industry and commerce in my previous re-incarnation. Truth be told).
For whatever reason, it would seem to me that if Netgear R9000 can run successfully with non-stock firmwares such as DDWRT, more of the R9000 can be sold than otherwise the case, as well as 'outsider's ideas' suitable for adoption by Netgear. Win-win scenario. I'd say.
Having said that i think Netgear engineers are very good at what they do.
